Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

But November may be the single best month ever.

11/11 - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Skyrim is the only game I have been looking forward to for a while now, Probably anticipating it more than any game since Spore. I hope it doesn't disappoint like Spore.

October was a great month for new games.

10/4 - Dark Souls
10/11 - Forza 4
10/18 - Batman: Arkham City
10/20 - Football Manager 2012
10/25 - Battlefield 3

But November may be the single best month ever.

11/1 - Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
11/8 - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
11/11 - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
11/15 - Saints Row: The Third
11/15 - Assassin's Creed: Revelations
11/15 - Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
11/20 - The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Holy **** what a month!

Just finished the first two Acts of Gears of War 3. As I expected, the campaign comes through big again; it's fricken awesome!

All I know is that game is looking pretty fun...

Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

I am not really sure how I am going to make it through next week.

I also don't see me getting a lot of work done next Friday. I probably should just work a half day or take the day off.

What, you don't already have Friday off for Veteran's Day?

Most employers will tell you that Veterans Day is not a "real" holiday.

Gotta love government work, starting next week I get 6 holidays in the span of about 10 weeks (we get the friday after Turkey Day off in lieu of Columbus Day). Of course then there aren't any days off til Memorial Day, which blows. Frankly, I'd rather have President's Day off than Veteran's Day or MLK Day simply because of the calendar, but whatever. I have a feeling a vacation day or two might be used on and around March 6th anyway (to bring this back around to video games).

It's the final countdown! (sing along if you want) :D

4 days left. I hear there is a smaller game being released tomorrow ahead of Skyrim. Modern Warfare 3 or something like that. Dunno, it's barely getting any press.

I can't get (Let alone play) MW3 until mid december. Thanks, work. Hell, people will be on their 10th prestige by the time I get started.

Just back from TRU with COD. Got a poster, model jeep, 15$ gift card, but missed a tee shirt by one person. The kid is now playing it with the other kid that I took there.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

Boom. 90% of the dorms have guns shooting from their rooms starting in the next 20 minutes.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

So, for $25-30 apiece, are Forza 3 and TES 4: Oblivion worth getting(I have an xbox 360)?

Note: I don't waste money on games right after they come out and prefer to wait a few years for the cost to drop significantly. :p

Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

Got MW3 at Best Buy tonight. Worst handling of a midnight launch I have ever seen. MAYBE 100 people in the store, spread out to 3 different lines...and it STILL takes me 40 minutes before getting my game. They took FOREVER.

Came back and played through the Single Player on Normal. Took about 4:30, including about 5-10 minutes messing with my stupid controller. It kept shutting off and then about midway through my batteries died. It's also super late and I sucked pretty bad in a couple sections.

I did capture the entire gameplay in one sitting, and am going to split it up and upload onto YouTube for viewing pleasure. The story ends....okay I guess. Nothing special. Definitely the weakest Campaign, story-wise, of the 3 MW games. But enjoyment wise, there were some absolute gems of levels. Great storybook moments as always. I think the Paris missions were my favorites. Turbulence is pretty badass though.

Oblivion is a pretty good game, enough so that I am excited for the sequal being released on Friday.

I have no clue on the Forza series.

Oblivion GOTY Ed with all expansions should be only $25 or less for 360. If you get that one, it's totally worth the money.

Same goes for Forza 3, although you won't get any add-on content free with that.
