Re: Official Video Games Thread V: Collector's Edition
First, Lego Harry Potter is amazing. I played a couple hours and I haven't even finished the first story yet.
A ton of places to go, all very familiar if you read the books/saw the movies.
Magic is new. Some of it acts like force powers did in Lego Star Wars, others do unique things.
Still collecting studs, completing stories, buying unlockable characters, items, extras.
Let us know how Naughty Bear is. While the trailer is hilarious, I'm not sure if it's one of those games where I'll enjoy the slaughter the first time but then the joke gets old fast and replay value isn't much, or if I'll continue to enjoy it. I can see this one going either way for me.
Naughty Bear:
Only played through the tutorial and the first section of the first level so far, but it was definitely fun.
- Multiplayer (3-4 modes), leaderboards.
- Unlock levels, costumes, items.
- Medals/trophies in game for doing things well, fast, etc. that are part of what unlock things.
You can scare bears, there is also a "super scare". Scared bears will either hide or try to get help.
If you mess with a bear enough mentally he/she will go over the edge (basically they kill themselves).
You can beat up a bear until its limping and wounded and then have the option to do an "ultra kill" which is a little animation.
You can use world items to kill/harm bears. You also have access to weapons and traps.
If you destroy things the bears like that scores you points. You can also sabotage things that passing bears will try to fix. Which then gives you a chance to sneak up on them.
The naughtier you are the more naughty points you score. The faster you do things the higher your naughty multiplier goes.
Within the game there is also timed modes, such as kill all the bears in a time limit.
