Re: Official Video Games Thread V: Collector's Edition

Buying the deed means the horse is always available even after death? Kind of like now?

Exactly. If you lose the horse or it dies, you can go to your item screen, click on the deed for said horse, whistle and voila, it's there.

Re: Official Video Games Thread V: Collector's Edition

Beauty. Good to know.

It won't work instantaneously mind you, but if you run around for a couple minutes and then whistle, you get the same kind of kick-arse horse back without having to go wrangle another one.

Most annoying part about the cattle rustling, was that I lost 5 when they crossed the train tracks and the f'in train was coming by. No idea if that was planned or coincidence.

I think that was definitely planned, it happened to me too. I somehow only lost one.

A prostitute in the saloon kept hitting on me, so I pulled my gun on her. That got her to stop. :p

Re: Official Video Games Thread V: Collector's Edition

you're confusing Fifa/Winning Eleven/Pro Evolution with pretty much every other game made. Soccer games are impossibly complicated when it comes to controls. Red dead is pretty simply. Run, jump, shoot, switch guns.

I play the heck out of FIFA, and I honestly use the joystick, shoot, pass, and lob pass. It's really not super complicated.

The game I never really got into because the button combos overwhelmed me was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Maybe that was misguided, but I'm just a button masher I guess.

the RDR story line has a lot of glitches that are minor but really annoying.. when did you meet the US army before you just suddenly joined them to go after dutch?

Agreed on FIFA.

Tiger Woods golf, on the other hand.....

Gimme one button for strength (press once to start the meter, once to stop) one for accuracy (same deal), and the joystick for direction.

Not: draw back the joystick to swing, along with 2-3 buttons for accuracy/strength at the same time).

You were working with the US Marshals, they could call in the army to work it out if they needed to, especially to go get a wanted man.

Told a friend about my PS3 purchase and the game. He finally broke down and bought it.

Ok…..I broke down and picked it up last night………wow!

Missile Command *squee*

Re: Official Video Games Thread V: Collector's Edition

I've attained the level of "Peacemaker" even though I've killed 6 US Marshals and shot a bunch of dudes in the back. :p

I find it funny that you can shoot a guy in the back, loot his corpse and steal his horse and get away Scot-free... I look around the bank and immediately I'm wanted and there is a bounty on my head...

You're missing out if you're not playing on the Wii with the MotionPlus. It's like swinging an actual golf club. (Well, I mean, the weight isn't the same, obviously, but the motion is.)

Re: Official Video Games Thread V: Collector's Edition

Very first time I played, I was in Armadillo and walked through a door into a building. Turns out it was the back door and that immediately put a $20 bounty on my head and I had people chasing me out of town with bullets flying. :D

That also reminds me, in Mexico if the Army has a bounty on you, there is nowhere to pay that off. Death is the only way I have found to clear it so far.

Cross the border. BAM! No more federales

Also, wear the bandana. You could nuke a city without it affecting your fame/honor. Granted, you'll still get a bounty on your head and you'll be chased but yeah...

All things I already know. ;)

Till I go back to Mexico for some reason and they try to bust a cap in my ass for past transgressions. :p
