Official UNH Wildcats Offseason Thread 2012

Re: Official UNH Wildcats Offseason Thread 2012

I was disappointed not to see one player from UNH on the list of collegiate NHL draft picks. Still looking forward to the upcoming season though.

Chris Dilks of the Western College Hockey Blog has Brett Pesce listed as a potential Round 1-3 draft pick in the 2013 NHL Draft and Tyler Kelleher (targeting 2013 to come to UNH) as a potential Round 4-7 pick:

I'm SO craving yelling loudly, "Sieve... You suck!"

Not sure if this is another rumor.. was at 'a rink' today talking to someone familiar with UNH hockey.. rumor is, they might be forcing Umile to resign sooner rather than later..(along with Borek). Sorry if this has already been covered, have been traveling lately..

Borek maybe, but I would be really surprised if Umile leaves anytime soon. Very few head coaches in Hockey East are forced to leave, and Umile will be no exception.

Re: Official UNH Wildcats Offseason Thread 2012

I would consider that 3 hockey east coaches in two year is much more than "very few"

I agree that the last two years were exceptional, but if you look at the larger picture over the last couple of decades, I think that my point stands. Also, I am using the word forced literally.

Re: Official UNH Wildcats Offseason Thread 2012

Toot Cahoon resigns/is forced to resign, and neither the Quinnipiac coach nor the Holy Cross coach are interested in the UMass job when it is offered to them.

If Umile is placed in the same situation, just who would UNH pursue to replace him?

Almost. They need his application so they can refuse to look at it.
