Uncertain. He wasn't feeling 100% halfway through the 3rd period after a collision with a Cortland player and Gilbert went in to finish the game. Z went to the locker room, but completely on his own power.

During Coach's Corner, Digby basically said that barring anything catastrophic, he anticipates seeing Z well by Monday's practice. Could've just had the wind knocked out of him. Better safe than sorry, especially when the game is already more or less decided.

Looked to me like he might have tweaked a knee. I don't think it was too bad judging by Coach Digby's comments. Cortland had run him over 3 times by that point and he erred on the side of caution and took himself out of the game.

Being at the game, the kid that ran Z never slowed down and no one pushed him. He flat out nailed Z. Cannot tell the injury, possibly got the wind knocked out of him. Looked worse than Waterstreet's 5 minute major

It was, because Waterstreet shouldn't even have gotten a penalty let alone a major. He gets penalized for being 6-5 235 and that's not fair. It was a hard, shoulder to shoulder hit and the guy got his bell rung a little, not even close to a hit from behind. In the third down on the Oswego end Hurlihey got cross checked head first into the boards and there was no call on that at all.

I did get 3 SRO tiks for the Platty game,I dont mind standing but if the wife and 8y.o.can sit that would be great ,if not pass them onto OSU 2010...thnks for the heads up...ps I havd 3 tiks in sec 53 for postdam that is good for us .

I missed the whole weekend of hockey away having fun,looks like we took care of the dragons,and there was a wild weekend in the north country,hate when the zebras make themselves known.Still some huge games coming up,will be a very interesting run the rest of the year.

our goalie has been hit a few times this year,not sure if its because they like to wonder as well.After EVERY whistle our dmen should be ready to take on all commers:p

It's Selick all over again. You look at Waterstreet in the pre-game lineup and he's a head taller than everyone else. He has to be careful throwing that weight around or he's going to get those kinds of penalties (unless he wants to go play in Minnesota or Wisconsin.... :) ). Z got clobbered pretty hard and from where we were sitting it looked like an "undisclosed lower body injury". Hopefully he's OK. Coach Ed was holding up four fingers at the officials- I think noting the number of times our guys had been nailed (up to that point).

Like I said,our netminder has been run into on several times IIRC,should end here.Every time there is a whislte that ends with our netminder holding the puck dmen should be ready to welcome any visitors:D

The visitor was on top of Z before the whistle blew: crashing the goaltender. 2:00 minor in trade for injured first-string goalie. No Lady Bing for that guy.

well crashing the goalie when the puck is in play is grounds for dismissal from both refs and an Oswego player/s.

Undeserving of that lofty spot in my opinion but they are finding themselves a bit offensively. The defense however is not at all becoming of a number 2 team. They are fine if they can nip the offense off the rush but if the other team sets up it becomes a real adventure. 3 of 4 Cortland goals were a result of not clearing the puck from the front of the net or at least tying up sticks or a man.

Where they are ranked is tough but I tend to agree with you. Unfortunately those above them keep loosing so where they are is to be expected. Not saying much on ranking until the last week for I don't take much stock on them. Nice article on the Platty thread on from a very knowledge one.

Yeah, no one really stands out in D3 this year as almost all the top teams have at least one loss to a bottom third type team. If they win out the regular season then their overall body of work will in my opinion be deserving of that spot.

I've been saying similiar things about Norwich most of the season but they just keep making me eat crow day after day after day. The team just keeps winning.

The difference is goaltending. The Cadets have TWO very strong goaltenders this year IMHO. They also could roll out five lines of forwards and four defensive pairs without TOO much drop off.

Pelletier and Niezgoda are certainly the 1-2 punch, but this team has the potential to have eight to nine 10 goals scorers this year.
