Yes I would say a little funk but thats ok ....for now.......first off to many shots wide and high again..and to many passes to fancy at times,and at a tiem when it seems we are off a little we need to shot at the net and crash.The hustle looked pretty good most of the time,and we played better in the dzone..Zman nice stop on the pen shot,but it was a matter of time he got caught out of the net,not sure what he was doing he look to non-chalant?? Horrigan played well but we made him look even better.Neil was good on the face-offs,should we have pulled the goalie earlier, we had 2 draws in the offensive zone with 2 mins left?? Reffing was questionable due to inconsistancy.Time for a break then up north.

Just a terrible game we played. Not much for physical play all around. Passing was not good and we hung on to the puck to much and our speed was shown occasionally. Get rid of Riavit on the PP or move him to the second unit. If it wasn't broke don't fix it. Z played OK. Lastly our shooting is terrible. Not even close on the break aways or good looks at the net. Didn't see what really happen on the 5 min major butting. I hope Coach rubs his crystal ball and figures out what is not happening. When we did play well tonight for only minutes at a time we hit, hustled, used out speed, but it only for a shift or two.

I wasn't at the game and didn't start watching until the 3rd period (I was at the Women's game in Plattsburgh), so I can't comment personally, but here's an observation from someone we all know and love who didn't have a horse in the race:

That observation is BS by the great Ray Biggs. Barely any contact was made by Barton and it sure as hell wasn't a buttend. Genny did their usual lay down like a soccer player stuff a few times in that game and on that case the refs bought it. Oswego played like crap anyway so it doesn't matter, they failed to bury Genny in the standings and gave Plattsburgh a cushion, as if they really need it.

In the post game wrap, WTOP showed 3 different angles at very slooooow speed....I have to disagree with my friend Ray - contact was not there - he flopped like Luis Suarez at Anfield and the zebra's bought it. Now there's an idea - let's start recruiting ref's from the BPL....They know a good dive when they see one:D

Having said that - Lakers did not deserve to win - Eddie will have his work cut out for him when they return from break to prepare for their trip to the North Country...:eek:

The refs were just awful last night. Generally, I think the refs do a decent job, but not last night. I saw at least three tripping calls get missed (on both sides), missed offsides, and more diving than at a swim meet. Oswego didn't lose that game because of officiating, but it sure didn't help.

This team is in a big funk. They've got a ton of talent, but they're just not gelling for some reason. Thankfully, they only have 1 loss. But they've got two big games coming up in a week and a half. Hopefully they can figure out their issues soon!

After the phantom butt end an Oswego player, not sure which one, maybe Johnson buried a Genny player head-first into the boards and there was no call at all, when it should have been 5 and a game. The obvious too many men on Geneseo was called by the linesman not one of the refs. On the interference call in the third, Geneseo committed an even more blatant one during the delayed penalty that didn't get called, it should have been a 5 on 3. I know these guys don't get paid a ton for what they do but how about taking a little pride in your work?

Zebras had a very bad game,but dont think it cost Oz the game as we went o for on the PP ,we had a very good 1st then not so good after that.Funk is funk,we will get out of it I am pretty confident.Hoping Botten isnt hurt to bad as I imagine that is why he wasnt in the line-up.No King or Scott again but then someone has to sit.Almost 10 days off will give the guys and the coaching staff time to rest and recoup....happy Turkey day to ya:D.. Is.Barton out for the next game???
 
I agree with Pres analysis here; I was there and although the kids didnt really gas out until the 3rd, they couldnt put together the plays and passes you normally see with Laker hockey. It needs to said we did outshoot the G-Knights 30-16. 5 minute major butt call was a killer; butt didnt see it. Of course it your name is Biggs you might know butts.

I don't know if Oswego is in a funk, or that this is the first good team they have played this year? Disregarding Genny's record, that was a very good team last night with a solid goalie. I thought the teams matched up very even except for Oswego's third line was a good match up, and they had to score to make the difference in that game. It's still early in the season, and I'm curious who the "go to guy" is going to be for Oswego this year and put the tight game on his back and fly into the corners digging the puck out for the winning goal, back checking the open man who would have had a breakaway, etc. To me, that it what Titanic was last year, and this team seems to lack thus far. They without a doubt have the talent, and it's going to be fun watching this team find who they are

Gotta go with funk as I think we didnt play to well vs. Bport and Utica,and we played about 1 period last night Time will tell who will be the guy who comes up with the BIG goal/HIT/Save...Not sure what was going on with Zman he was all over the place a la Gilbert,and he paid for it with the 2nd goal,to bad after he stoned Brickler on the pen shot. We need a consistent goalie,without that your not going anywhere.

I still say the Oswego D needs a lot of improvement. Very shaky in the games I have watched.

Nazareth is the best team Oswego has played this year so far and that was the last complete game they played. Geneseo is not that good of a team right now, their defense is almost as bad as Oswego's and their offense and power play are awful. They had jack squat for real chances and gave Oswego a ton that they did not capitalize on. Simply put it was a dud of a game by Oswego that they will likely regret when Genny picks up the pace later in the season.

As Mr Briggs so aptly put, that is always a major. Those of us that were actually at the game last night never saw a penalty on that play. There were a few other plays that should have called on Oswego that were overlooked. Genny is quite skilled at taking dives. Maybe some of those boys also play soccer. I would agree that Oswego is not playing their A game. I cannot say Genny was a much better team last night, just enough. If you will remember last year , Oswego got beat several times then they came out of the ether and started to play Hockey. We still have very good expectations this year so hang on.

Nazereth better than Geneseo ?? Wow. No disrespect to Naz, but that was a 8-16-2 team last year when Genny went (deservedly) to the Final Four. Naz is improved some, but I don't think you're showing any respect at all for a team that didn't play very well last night and still beat Oswego in their barn.

On the nights that Naz/Genny played Oswego, Nazareth gave the better performance?

Exactly Joe, it took a great Oswego effort to beat Nazareth 4-0. Oswego played one of their worst games in a long while last night and were still able to outplay Geneseo, just not outscore them. Geneseo is not at all playing like the final four team of last year. Last year a 5 minute PP in a tight game would have been terrifying, last night it took a broken play and a perfect shot by Brickler for them to even get a sniff. On paper, yes Genny is a better team than Nazareth, games are not played on paper though.
