working well for the last few minutes of the 1st period
2nd period seems to be working ok. Still a little pixelly at times. But definitely acceptable.

Question for Oswego fans:
How is Mike Montagna's name pronounced? I keep hearing 'Mon-tag-na' which sounds horrendously wrong to my ears.
Zman for sure, the goals were not his fault, many oddman/semi/breakaways that he dealt with...He made a ton of nice saves, and looked good doing it.........Bottomline, the D has to get their act together,to much watching the puc in the dzone, instead of picking up a man, this will come with time I think...Should be a great game Tues night hope some kids stay around to watch it..........ow yea 2 posts in the third period killed us as well, not to mention their PPGOk who gets the start on Tues night? Or is it Sawyer Time?

agree, 2 words puck watching, the dmen and forwards seem to fixated on what the guy with the puck is doing and not covering their man/zone,I think once they play the tougher team like Utica/genny/platty they will get the idea,or they will lose..also waaaaaaay to many shots missing the net,the first few games of the yr we hit the net all day long. Yes our neutral zone has been bad the past few games to many forced passes. Our forecheck is very good, but we look for the pass a little to much at times, all in all not a bad start of the season the next 3 games will/are BIG.....No King again only played 1 game so far?Z will start against Genny. Two breakaways and a quick shot off the draw are the types of things goalies can save but you can't always expect it. The fourth goal as Prez said he left his post early and the puck bounced right to Educate. He made a bunch of real good saves in the game so I think Eddie will go with him again until he costs the team a win like Gilbert did Friday. The defense is just awful right now, not just the defensemen but the forwards coming back on D. Oswego is living and dying in the neutral zone at both ends of the coin. If they can attack through the neutral zone with speed they eat teams alive, if they can't it's a struggle. Same on the defensive side, they either stop the team in the neutral zone or at least force them into a bad shot on the rush or they let them set up and enjoy a bunch of zone time. They have to work on their in zone play going forward because you cant always skate right by the other team.
prettty much what i thought about king, hope both guys make a full recovery, its nice that they dont have to rush back, but, with this team ya just may lose your spot...Yes Rivait looked rusty to be nice about it,hard to get into game shape/pace in practice, I am sure he will get back up to speed.I am still concerned about the pen kill,....also guys like Herllihy barton yorke and ferrarra looked very good this weekend, they give dmen fits.Any idea about how the crowd will be Tues??...ps Willis plays hard, makes some mistakes, but more than makes up for it with grit, the other dmen should watch is aggressive style,we are a little passive at times on d.King is hurt, don't know the nature of it. Mac Scott was injured against Nazareth, again not sure the nature of it. Rivait was back this weekend and looked really rusty, when he is back on form the steady presence he provides back there will help settle some of the others down.

I get ya Norm, but the last 2 games, bport was 1 for 3 and Utica 1 for 2 and Utica PP goal tied the game,.....Oswego is 29th on the PK and Platty is tied for 57th on the PP,who knows?? I have beat this drum for the past yr or so,the special teams has killed us in the final 4 the past 5yrs, it is early in the season but, I think we need to get a hold on it during the season and hopefully it will help to get to the Big dance again and perhaps finish the job?? I also know special teams seems to be a streaky kind of thing....the PP is off to a good start, lets hope its there when we need it..They better have their Penalty Kill in top form when they face the Cardinals.

The students at WTOP adapted and overcame and pulled off a nice production/broadcast,people like myself downstate would not have been able to watch the game otherwise...Thanks for the great job!!WTOP's Frozen Dome broadcast will be scheduled for replay (perhaps a few times) during the Thanksgiving break. The lack of bandwidth delivered vs promised by the Carrier Dome was the reason online viewers missed the pregame buildup and first period. Fortunately WTOP staff supported by recent grads on site (and on the phone) solved the problem near the end of the first period. The TWCable broadcast was not affected. The Geneseo game tomorrow night will be broadcast live, and I understand the pregame show will be a special one hour show beginning at 6pm...
agree the top few lines were quiet, but **** happens, and others have to pick up the slack...as for being outshot, really doesnt mean much,we had many many more shots than Steven Pt in the FF, and lost so not a big factor,I would go more with the quality of shots, and Utica had many semi breakways and breakaways and men all alone type shots that were defensive lapses that will kill any team.We simpley have to stop puckwatching in our dzone,it will come with more games, and when and if you throw in a few loses the players will get the point as well, still early in the season and we are 5-0-2 not bad. Both games were fun to be at. Even the students stayed to the very end of the Brockport game. The Brockport game was our better game, we outplayed them and out shot them but did not get the bounces. The Dome game was very concerning, we were outplayed and out shot for the first time, by a time that has no business doing that. Let's hope it was Frozen Dome anomally.
Comments.
1. The big line (Neil, Hulsaf and Montagna) did not score a goal in either game. The only powerplay goal Friday night was from the second unit. When your top line puts up a blank, you can expect tight games.
2. I would have used more players on the weekend. The strength of this team and program is depth, we had decent players watching in the stands. Considering the games were 20 hours apart, I would have mixed up the lineups for both games so we would have had fresh legs for Saturday.
