I'm REAAAAALLY liking Joey Davies right now. I have some good feelings about where he's going. Galati, as usual, reminding everyone that he's not a fluke. He's the real deal.

That lineup is going to be very tough to crack. Everyone out there looked pretty good and you also have Botten, Hulshof and Rivait who are out. Both Z and Gilbert looked good in net. Galati is a pure goal scorer, if he can get a stick on it he can put it in.

Agreed. There is a ridiculous amount of talent on this team. To think, Hulshof and Botten and Rivait were sitting. Those guys are going to be back, and this team is going to be unbelievable. Joey Davies is going to find himself a spot on this roster. As for Durocher and Herlihey, I'm sure they'll get to play a few games. But this year's roster is brimming with so much talent, they may find themselves playing only a few games.
Realistically, Davies may end up being the only freshman getting regular icetime this season, which is a bit of a shame. Each one of them would be on the 1st or 2nd line of almost any other team in D3, but in Oswego, may not be able to crack the roster at all until next year. There's only 6 seniors graduating this year though, so some of these guys may not even get much ice time next year either if Oswego recruits one or two more talents like Davies next year. They're basically going to be waiting until their senior years before they get the playing time they really deserve.
From our perspective as the fans, having too much talent is a very nice problem to have. From the perspective of the players, though, I really feel for them. Winning a championship doesn't quite feel as special if you spent the entire season watching instead of playing.

I think Durocher and Herlihey will get their fare share of time and I think the other new guys will as well. Herlihey played very well in the half of the game he played. Barton also did not suit up in this one and he was a regular last year.

I don't think many of us believed that a National Team with 13 games under their belt would come into Oswego and get beat. After all Oswego has not played a game. Last week the CC ice was shut down for over a week for the huge symposium that took place.
What I saw last night was a D111 team that plays very well against a finess team. Our Lakers made many defensive mistakes, but they also made some great plays. Next week in Buffalo it will be a different game to see. More hitting from both teams, and believe me none of us are taking any SUNAAC team lightly

Agreed - way too many give aways in our own zone...but well done in the mental toughness part of the game - they didn't fold, they didn't panic, they didn't quit....

One thing I kept thinking last night was how good this team looked, considering they've only been practicing (officially) for a week. They significantly out-played a team that's been playing pretty good D-1 schools for the last month. They looked slower and a bit tired in the third period, and there were some defensive mistakes. But there is some serious talent on this team. Lots of scorers. I'm really excited for this season.

Great job by both teams,both played their games,clean hockey and fun to watch,would have been nice to seen it live....Oswego is off to a good start,as for D zone mistakes that is to be expected and man those kids can fly.pass and control the puck,Bracco made a few toe drags at full speed that made us look silly he is very good to say the least.Davies looks to be like another Adams type player fast,lots of hustle and last night at least a FINISHER,great play on the SHG.The PPG by Galati was pretty sweet as well.Neil looked back in form and will led the team in scoring this yr. Thought we would see all 3 goalies,but Zman looked locked in and Gilbert was excellent as well.Waterstreet looked fast and had some great hits.No Botten,Hulshof Rivait and Barton,hopefully not due to injury.Good to see Kim-Swallow.The new kids that got ice..Davies very impressive top 5 forward for sure...herlihy and ferriera looked fast,the rest coudnt tell to much about..As for WTOP,they did a great job and are in mid-season swing as well,the broadcast was very clear and not to much buffering I think they call it........Should be interesting to see who plays this weekend up in Buff.Freddy,tuff job for the coaches to fill the line-up....the kids come to Oswego knowing it will be hard to get in but thats why the come, top program and I think they would rather try to play here than go to some other schools.....plus not a bad education as well..........ow and there are a few places to relax and unwind at Oswego as well......from what I remember,which is not much

Matt Galati is the new mayor of snipe city. Wow. Kid can flat out rip it.
Looking forward to seeing the Lakers at Frozen Dome! Really hope Norwich and Oswego can find a date to get on the schedule with each other in the near future.

There was some confusion on that, since he's listed on the roster as a freshman, but was shown on the scoreboard as a sophomore.

Galati can score in so many different ways. He can snipe it but he can also score ugly. He get's himself in the right spots to score goals and doesn't miss very often.

Joey Davies is a soph, as he played one year at U of Alaska last year. We had the pleasure of meeting his parents last night. They are very happy that he is in Oswego and they no longer have to fly to the great North to see their sorn

yes Barton was a BIG factor down the stretch,scored a big PPg vs Platty IIRC.....all hustle all the time and earned a spot on the Powerplay come last yrs end...hope he wasnt hurt already.....
