Whiteout tonight, Geneseo tomorrow and Bowdoin Friday...that's the schedule (as of now?)

Just a comment. As Oswego gets ready for the National USA 18 and under team Saturday night, it is ridiculous that the only Hockey in North America that has not played in October is D111. Living here in the northeast it has always been a luxury to get three or four games in October. Weather is much better in October. Because of several small colleges in the East that also have football programs the NCAA has decided to not coincide hockey and football in October. All D1 schools do just the opposite. Can anyone tell me why the NCAA believes that booking games on Tuesday nights and Sunday afternoons is better for the student athletes? Packing the games closer together puts a lot of stress on the teams. I believe the NCAA is wrong on this one

Good News! You could see Tuesday night and Sunday afternoon games not necessary soon enough....when the NCAA lowers the maximum number of games DIII can play....no need for weekday games when the schedule is reduced.....

Yes, they (NCAA) would like hockey & lacrosse to both go to 15 game seasons - that should make things real fun for the ECAC Women's East. :eek: :rolleyes:

I don't think we'll see hockey go to 15 games but there is talk of eliminating 10% of the maximum number of games allotted which would cut D-III hockey down to 22 or 23 depending on which way they rounded.

I know D-III gets the short end of the straw when it comes to sharing the NCAA pie, but at least our athletes fit the NCAA ideal of students then athletes as opposed to our D-I counterparts where it seems you're only there for the W's.

Given that the NCAA is an idealistic organization, one would think that the Division that best emulates the NCAA ideal would get more money.

UPDATE - Babson NCAA game from last year is tonight's replay. CONFIRMED - both games tomorrow will be produced by WTOP10 and carried on the usual cable channels in Oswego County and on the athletics website - uncertain weather TWCable is putting them on digital channels to the broader upstate NY region. UPDATEWTOP10 goes live at 2:30pm for the ladies and 6:30pm for the men...but I suspect WNYO 88.9FM will be the same.

In anticipation of tomorrow's return of Laker hockey, I put together this little blog about my personal memories of Oswego hockey through the years. I'm hoping a lighter course load than I had last year will give me time to write through the whole season unlike last year. Any feedback is always welcome and appreciated!

So I tune in to see the Bowdoin game.....:confused: I give up.
