Re: Official Oswego State 2013-2014 Season Thread - A New Beginning...

I was pretty sure the actual rink broadcast segments were fine, when they showed the rink side announcers there was no lip sync issue at any point during the game. The issues seemed to be limited to the off-ice segments and the commercials.

Work has been cutting into my posting, listening and viewing. However, it was a joy (and sometimes) pain to watch and listen to this game. Great game and good luck to Genny. Hope you guys make it into the field.

Good golly miss Molly,...tho the calls didnt seen to favor the Lakers tonight, they prevailed. Congrats on on winning its 10th SUNYAC .

Not too shabby a rebuilding year, fellas  Good luck in the tourney!

Re: Official Oswego State 2013-2014 Season Thread - A New Beginning...

Silly Lakers. You weren't supposed to win the SUNYAC championship and vie for the NCAA championship. You were supposed to have a decent season, lose to Plattsburgh in the SUNYAC playoffs, and then lick your wounds for 6 months in the off-season. Teams with 20 freshmen aren't supposed to win championships.

I LOVE THIS! Forget about the next three years. This team is championship quality RIGHT NOW.

Re: Official Oswego State 2013-2014 Season Thread - A New Beginning...

God bless the Lakers boys, and hopefully a lot of fans for their blood pressures - that was a ridiculous game played out there. They played balls-to-the-wall at the outset, but when Geneseo started showing why they were the #1 team in the SUNYAC (great game by them!), OSU's resolve to not fall like a house of cards showed a real credit to coaching and player leadership, and THAT'S bloody impressive. Titanic, Rivait, Gertsakis - commanding such an abundance of freshman, scant in playoff experience and without the likes of a Whitelaw-Moody-Rodrigues line - that's some of the finest captaincy that you ever could ask for.

WTOP - that feed was fantastic, and way to go on launching your HD ship... on the road no less! I can't speak for the lip syncing issue, kind of busy in between periods and all:o, but really solid PBP and excellent camera action! Geneseo obviously isn't a CC for all the camera locations available, but you made it work just fine with what was given. Good show!

Lastly, way to go for all those who sported Green and Gold at the rink tonight - you were heard loud and clear, and the team's extra celebrating time near your section was an excellent tribute. To have been there...what a treat it must have been.

Oz entered the year playing with the house's money, and they left it with the casino bankrupt in their wake. Well done boys.

Re: Official Oswego State 2013-2014 Season Thread - A New Beginning...

Just a side note: checked collegehockeystats.net at 11:20pm tonight for a box score for the game and it still isn't up. They must have run out fingers trying to sort everything out!

Re: Official Oswego State 2013-2014 Season Thread - A New Beginning...

Couldn't make the game tonight and only got to watch the first period but it sounds like the boys really gutted it out in the end. That is seven straight one goal games for them and 12 total including ties, a young team is usually not that comfortable in one goal games. I felt they would be pretty good before the season, just a different kind of good than the last couple of classes. I felt they were built to do well in the playoffs and that turned out to be true although I wasn't exactly expecting a SUNYAC title this year. After their post break hiccup, Tites, Bobby and Nick really turned into leaders and they got a trophy out of it. Now we will see how they stack up against the Nations best teams and I for one am excited to see what they can do.

Any chance WTOP does a rebroadcast of this game at some point. I had to be a good husband and come through on a long-scheduled date with the wife at an Imagine Dragons concert in NJ. Heard bits on the radio - would love to get to see the whole thing at some point.

Re: Official Oswego State 2013-2014 Season Thread - A New Beginning...

Any guesses what our hidden eastern ranking will be?

Re: Official Oswego State 2013-2014 Season Thread - A New Beginning...

Congrats Oz, and GL going forward, I'll be rooting for you.

Re: Official Oswego State 2013-2014 Season Thread - A New Beginning...

Congrats Coach G and the entire team. Coach G really showed his coaching talents this year. To take a very young team and transform the young men into this team is incredible. Also hats off to Titanic, Badham, Gertsakis, and Rivait for their on ice leadership. This team far surpassed my expectations and I would have never guessed they would travel the hockey road this far. Just a great mix of young men.
From what I read from the box score it must have been one barn burner of a game. It must have been like the games of the 80's where no score was save with all the scoring. Makes for very exciting hockey. Also congrats to a very talented Genny team who showed great heart for such a come back. It would be nice to see 2 SUNYAC teams in the tourney. The NCAA's will be very exciting for there will not be a repeat winner this year. It will be interesting to see where the men in black who sit in the smoke filled room place the teams and who travels.

Checking on it - will post when it's set...

Re: Official Oswego State 2013-2014 Season Thread - A New Beginning...

It is good to see that Chris Carr picked up a couple goals and an assist after a few of us experts said he was expendable in the lineup. I guess that is why Eddie makes the big bucks and we just sit back and watch.

I think they could be as high as 3, but I'm going to guess they'll be at 4. If they do move up to a 4, that would put them in position for one more home game, likely on Wednesday. It would be great to see the boys one more time in the campus center.

Re: Official Oswego State 2013-2014 Season Thread - A New Beginning...

Great win for the Lakers program, showed guts and grit after genny tied it 5 then at 6 again...The line up for the night was very good all the way thru, I expected a big year from Carr but I guess I had to wait until last night for nice production, great move on his second goal.I like the way Gosek used his TO in the 3rd to slow things down, hes got his act together for sure. This was a fast paced game, this Laker team can skate with anybody, which I think if it happens this yr or another soon will help at the BIGDANCE.The D played a tale of 2 games, the first half they were spot on ,moved the puck well and covered well, then ugh.....The Pk,I have noticed we have gone to a clog the middle and block shots which is fine, but cant let them blast away from the point and you have to clear the rebounds,I like a more aggressive PK..Our PP looked very good, I think Genny gave us to much respect with the put as well they laid back to much, again more aggressive.. No Neil,in the line-up as/the broadcaster he tore his knee done for the yr.That 4th line is very good at what they r out there for,York is tough and Timpano has good hands I think, barton is good on draws as well, but Botten is our best faceoff guy thought he may be used at the end to take a draw or 2 in our own end instead of Waterst. Our forecheck was excellent most of the night Gennys d were looking for the long pass all night ,didnt really work our d had them covered,Genny knocked the net off 3xs and noghting from the refs??? As for the refs a huge UGH,nuff said ....Great job by our fans they could be heard big time, the boys I am sure loved it...WTOP, thanks to be able to watch and chase my 7yo at home was excellent, keep up the great work...Botten has a lightening release on his shot......As for Zman he was there when we needed him ,seemed like he was screened a lot and rebound goals, we will clean that up for sure...Whos next???

Hope they can avoid a bus trip out West (to you-know-where) to satisfy the 500 mile rule...let Genny make that trek.
