Re: Official Drinking Thread Pt 5: Four Horsemen + Jerry: It's called The Voltron!

Comparing Meijier to Cub is an insult to Meijer.
It's not a straight up comparison. More of a general feel. Cub always seemed to have more selection than Rainbow; same as Meijer to Kroger.

The Oberon is for Memorial Day weekend. We're heading up to Alma for the Scottish festival and wanted a nice beer to drink. We're also going to bring up whatever Premo we have left, just for a change of pace. :)

Had part of a orange poweraide and SoCo last night. Very good. Orange soda would also work as well.

Winter White? Yeah, that's about the worst readily available Bell's brew. Even the Lager is better - at least it's all malt.

Yep. Also, I don't know if they're available still, but the 4 Wheat and 6 Wheat tasted like battery acid.

Don't feel too bad, eventually you will grow up and start drinking decent booze.

This "1960s Formula" Schlitz they starting putting out last year isn't too bad. I can actually taste a hint of hops in it! I just wish it was $4.99/six instead of $5.99, and it would be an instant go-to lager for BBQs and cheap, slummy weekends.

I also have Warsteiner lager to try later. Seen some people buying that lately and wondered whether it was any good, so I got some.

Re: Official Drinking Thread Pt 5: Four Horsemen + Jerry: It's called The Voltron!

Drinking the generic beer again. I have already drank 2 bottles of Baltika since 4:something. I thought I had 4 bottles. One ended up being a bottle of water. So the 3 I thought I had left was only 2. What the hell!? And don't blame blurry vision. I thought I had 4 minus the one of water left yesterday.

Re: Official Drinking Thread Pt 5: Four Horsemen + Jerry: It's called The Voltron!

I am too buzzed to drive to Greendale to buy some more Baltika. BTW, I think the store is closed now and the liquor store here in Wisconsin close at 9.

Liquor stores close in WI? Oh I spose you can just head over to the VFW and buy booze after that.

Liquor till 9. Beer till Midnight. We are open on Sundays. I also cannot drive downtown to the VFW because that is 5 miles away and I am really buzzed. ;)

Hanging with a longtime friend (some of you know him as Big Poppa). Three Philosophers, VT's with fresh cut lime, and maybe some Patron (never had it, might try it).

Patron is high-quality liquor, probably equivalent to a Belvidere or a Gentleman Jack. Worlds better than that rotgut Jose gold label, so don't be afraid of it just because it's tequila.

It's still tequila, makes me shake just thinking about it. That stuff tastes bad the 2nd time around:p

I like it, but it don't like me, unless it's in a marg.

I did a side-by-side comparison of Patron Añejo and Don Julio Añejo once (just one shot each). Both were pretty good, and high quality tequila is definitely a unique drink, but I think I'd rather save $20/fifth and get a bottle of Woodford. ;)

Maybe, maybe not. We know the dates, so we'll just have to play it by ear.
