No wonder they call it Arrogant Bastard. You have to be a rich Michigan grad to afford it.

Eighteen bucks for a sixer. Went with quantity over quality and scored a twelver of Alaskan Amber for $14 instead.

THAT'S the beer I was trying to think of tonight . AB is about 7 for a sixer, IIRC around here, and I've heard it's great.

Glad to see you've found cost-of-living sticker shock. Makes up for all those cheap drinks in the UP. :p

Anchorage normally isn't terrible. Store brand bread is $1.50, store brand gallon of milk is 3 bucks, most stuff is pretty normal if you get a plus card at the supermarket, take advantage of 4 for $5 deals, etc.

Fast food is about a buck extra (Subway has six dollar footlongs,) but you can still find some bargains (Arby's still has the $5.01 value meals, and most places have a fish sammich special even if they wouldn't elsewhere.)

Plus there's no sales tax, so if the price tag says $4.99, you will pay $4.99.

/six
//six dollar
///...it just isn't the same

I just bought 5 bottle of the russian beer that Brent was drinking at the F5. $3.99 a pop for a liter of beer. Awesome. I am glad that I talked to one of my co-workers. Her husband owns the Polish market place that I purchased the beer at.

Someone is in for a heinously drunk night.

Picked up a make-your-own sixer today. 2 were Schell's MaiFest, which is phenomenal.

The others:

Dark Horse Brewing's Raspberry Ale (Marshall, MI). Just cracked it, it's really good.

Two Brothers Brewing Monarch White Beer (Warrenville, IL)
Left Hand Brewing Black Jack Porter (Longmont, CO)
Mad Hatter IPA (Holland, MI)

Just cracked open bottle #3. Will keep you updated until I am no longer capable of writing stuff that makes sense to me.

Wrong. You must post until you are unconscious, for our entertainment.

Thus I will keep posting until things make no more sense. Then I realize that I passed out on the floor and my head hurts.

The Mad Hatter IPA is not good. Ugh. Poured about 1/2 of it out. Yeah, yeah, alcohol abuse, but I just couldn't finish it.

Just cracked the Black Jack Porter by Left Hand. This tastes much better. :)

I heard that Stoney IPA is good. The owner of the liquor store I go to said that after drinking that, I would never drink another IPA again. I oughta pick up a 6 pack of that tomorrow. Lakefront Brewery had a good IPA as well. Tough competition.

I don't drink many IPAs to begin with, since after two or so it feels like I need to shave my tongue. But this one was horrible. And not skunky horrible. Just tasted bad.

And I'm really really liking this porter. This one goes on the "get again" list.

I am not a huge IPA fan either. When you go to Madtown in August, be sure to get the Lakefront Brewery IPA. That is good. Also, get some New Glarus even though I heard that they sell it in Hudson. I am not a huge fan of stout beer, but their Coffee Stout is great for breakfast.

Re: Official Drinking Thread Pt 5: Four Horsemen + Jerry: It's called The Voltron!

I think I can get Lakefront around here, and you KNOW I'll be stocking up on NG beers. :D

Why does good beer = awesome?

Why did I move back to Wisconsin? Oh wait...the beer is cheaper and better. No offense. I do miss Minnesota, but they really need to lower their prices on booze.

Our gas is cheaper. And we're not surrounded by Sconnies. Win, us. :p

With this weather becoming hot and muggy, it's just about right for a mojito. Too bad not many places make a good one. :(

Yeah you are. :p You just don't know it. We are everywhere.

Too bad you can't deduct mojitos. Thank you Bruce Campbell. The Veranda Lounge in St, Clooud makes a good one.
