Official Drinking Thread Pt 5: Four Horsemen + Jerry: It's called The Voltron!

Re: Official Drinking Thread Pt 5: Four Horsemen + Jerry: It's called The Voltron!

I could go for a thirsty Thursday pitcher at the DT, or 4.

Only did pitchers a few times, as I'm not a huge fan of Long Islands. The most I ever drank was four, and I felt like sh*t the next morning. (I know your record, so don't bother bragging :p)

I preferred visiting the DT during the summer - sat on the deck, got a burger, and enjoyed $2.50 pints of Bells Two Hearted. Great to do on Friday evenings with a few co-workers from the Ford office. ;)

Ah, summers at the DT. Used to go with a crew of friends and listen to Gary play, and enjoy a drink or ten.

DT in the summer is definitely an awesome place to go for late lunch/early dinner.

Homework done, time for another beer. :)

This thread reminds me of my times at the DT. Pitchers and wings, what a great idea!

I did the same thing in college with Patrick's in St. Peter. There were at least five people I knew well there at any time of any day. It was great.

Did you go to GAC? Did you ever hit up the Oleander/What's Up Lounge in Mankato?

It's like B-Dubs, but 10x better at the least.
Definitely, and have you even been able to be there in the summer and sit on the deck all night, overlooking the water, with a pile of wings in front of you and pitcher in your hand? :)

There isn't another bar I'd rather be at than the DT, in the summer, sitting on the deck. It is about as good as it gets.

Ah, memories.

We definitely need to follow through on our summer trip to Houghton plans this year....

There's a bar in Menomonie called the Waterfront where you can do that.

And here, there's always Maynard's. ;)

and at Maynard's you'd pay as much for a glass of long island as you pay for a pitcher at the DT, maybe more. Maynard's is not cheap. :p

The DT is awesome, but especially in the summer. :) Though, I really need to try one of these pitchers I keep hearing about.

They aren't the most tasty drink ever (though you're allowed to change from Coke to cranberry juice or Hi-C, which helps) but they're over half alcohol. More if you tip well or know the staff.

Yes, this helps greatly.

I tip well on the first, and decent on the rest. It works.

Trying the Mighty Arrow Spring Seasonal from New Belgium tonight. It's okay, I guess. Dunno if I'd go out on a mission and buy another sixer, though.

Working on 7&7 number 2. Unfortunately I'm almost out of the 7 (the less important kind) so I'll have to switch to a different drink shortly.
