I believe Binny's has the Chive (KCCO) black lager. bostonewe had it recently, and she liked it. I wish I could try it. :(

According to the site, Binny's Beverage Depot (two locations on the first page) at 53rd St, and again at Jefferson St, has it.

Great, that's 53rd St and Jefferson St in Chicago. Not 95th St in Evergreen Park, which is the one I was talking about. :p

I might have seen it in EP, but I don't remember. And like I said, it just opened, so The Chive may not have updated their site with it....

I have no idea on the layout of Chi-town. I dunno how close the stores are. Example: there are two Haskell's in Plymouth/Minnetonka that are within 10 miles of one another. Not a great distance. :p

Think Four Firkins in SLP and Minnehaha Academy (straight west down Lake St. by the Mississippi).

Binny's is unbelievable. Never been to a store with a better or bigger selection.

There's one fairly close to the United Center and I always make a pilgrimage when in the city for events (usually Hawks games) there.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter what city you're in....95th Street is always 42 blocks away from 53rd Street.

For as much as this guy hates cities, he seems to have cracked the code to finding places on the South Side of Chicago :p

It always amazes me how many people live here and can't figure this out

I was talking to one of the guys who worked there and he said he can never leave within an hour after his shift is over because he can't go home empty handed, and it takes him that long to decide what to get...

The selection is seriously that good/large.

You all should pile in an RV, pick me up on the way and we can make the pilgrimage together.

Re: Official Drinking Thread: 7&7s for Everyone!

Picked up a couple sixers of the KCCO Black Lager (The Chive's beer). One store has it here in MN that I know of, and have no idea how they got it. They got 7 cases in, and there was about 5 left when I was there (they got it in yesterday). I am kind of anxious to try it. I've heard it's really good, but not OMGOutstanding. Frankly, I'm just happy I can try it.

Edit: When you just want a beer, the KCCO does nicely. Not quite as "black" as the KBC Widow Maker, but it's a decent clone.

The Schell's Framboise du Nord.

Holy vinegar taste. I don't mind it THAT much, but I wouldn't buy this again. Wow.

Re: Official Drinking Thread: 7&7s for Everyone!

I received a nice beer package from the midwest today so that's been the flavor of the evening. I've had White Rajah, Columbus IPA, Zombie Dust, and Head Hunter and all four are very good beers!

Re: Official Drinking Thread: 7&7s for Everyone!

Had the first bottle of Neapolitan Milk Stout. Good stuff, but I didn't detect any strawberry. VERY good with a little bit of chocolate.

Kind of a cool map, but it is missing at least four that I have been to, so I'm guessing it must be missing hundreds and even thousands across the country.

Missing that I've found so far, that I have personally been to:

The Library Brewpub, Houghton, MI
Hammerheart Brewing, Lino Lakes, MN
Red Wing Brewing, Red Wing, MN
Sapphire Mountain Brewing, Cashiers, NC
Powerhouse Brewing, Columbus, IN

Someone needs to find a carton (yes, a carton) of Chibuku Shake Shake for the next Frozen 4 tailgate in St. Paul. Then, we need to find someone to volunteer to actually drink it.

Google it.

Re: Official Drinking Thread: 7&7s for Everyone!

We have a volunteer :D:

No thanks... BBdl can have the first crack at it... It will show that he's become more accepting of other cultures :p

Also decided to see if Binny's carried it... Nope... Guess I don't get to enjoy this goodness :D
