Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

Re: Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

Sadly not buying All Access this year. High school feeds are higher quality and they're showing very few home games this year.

Speaking of broadcasting issues.... does anyone know if 1510 will be the radio spot for Terrier Hockey this year? I left the U18 game when they were repairing the boards, but when I got in the car, 1510 was broadcasting an AHL game...

Every game from here on out is on 1510.

at least they have a website i can listen to. the signal is not to be confused with, um - strong.

Better than their old home. (My microwave had more power.)

TBA, lots of games on NESN and ESPNU. Time to make friends with your local bar-keep.

Got ESPNU. NESN is at a Boston themed bar close by. Got that covered. :)

Did anyone notice the pizza was different this year?

Yes, I did. Thinner, not as good. The pizza was one of the few passable items for sale. When you have a captive audience, quality is not a priority.

Fortunately, beer is beer.

too bad he didn't get to write the team's preview. i can't begin to figure how he put them 8th? the only thing i come up with is he forgot about them and started, 1, 2, 3... then got to eight and saw them still on the side

Re: Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

I'm a guy who loves a decent hot dog at a game. HAA has deprived me of that joy, so I'm depriving them of my cash this year.

I have two seats, usually take my wife or daughter. If the food quality was reasonable, I would happily spend roughly $30/game on food and drink. That's about $600/year that I won't spend. Instead, I'll try to get in to Boston early and grab something at Anna's or similar.

I wonder how many fans spend less because the quality is so poor. And I wonder if that has ever occurred to HAA.

Being vegetarian there isn't a whole lot to really eat at HAA. But T Anthony's is where I always would stop for some food.

Pizza at HAA isn't very good and back when I ate meat I didn't really enjoy the selection then either.

Make the concessions quality, get more sales. Make the All-Access package quality decent and people will pay for it.

I was in walter brown arena over the weekend and saw a player practicing on the ice. One of the workers at the arena told me that his name was Greer (i can not remember the first name) But he is 6'3 and 190lb and has a rocket of a right handed shot. The worker said that he is always in the arena practicing. Has anyone else heard anything about this kid?

That may be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I have them winning the regular season title. The way this league is 4th or 5th is always possible. No way they finish lower than 6th.

BU Hockey: Holding Onto the Pre-season.

Was he wearing generic hockey gear? Walter Brown is used by a lot of youth teams as well as D3 Suffolk and maybe another school, lots of practices go on there. Doubt that it's Mike Grier  , but other than that I'm not sure who it is.

He was the only one on the ice. And a couple of the workers were just watching him
