Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

Re: Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

I only got the Sept 3rd email, and I am both a current (grad) and former student.

I doubt much will happen between the 1st and the 3rd?

HE Championship Winning Goal Scorers

HE Championship Winning Goal Scorers

I was asked today if Brandon Yip was the only player to score two championship winning goals in the history of Hockey East. He is, and here is the complete list of scorers:

Re: Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

I finally got the Sep. 3 email... on a Saturday. Odd. Maybe they've been stooping around these boards and realized they forgot me.

Re: Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

Anyone know what the TV situation is going to be this year? ESPNU has a hockey east package along with Friday Night Ice once we get to January, but the loss of CN8 halfway through last season is going to mean a sharp decrease in the number of BU games on TV I would think...BU has always had a side deal of their own to get more of their games on air, but it appears that may not happen this year. Anyone have any info?

Re: Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

Someone posted a couple of pages ago that Kraus would enjoy senior night next year.

Krauss and Ruikka were offered a redshirt year, I believe Krauss took it. I know Rulkka did for sure.

Kraus could graduate, but he could have another year of elegibility. Ruikka has 4 years.

The software they use may send in cycles so as not to get pegged as spam. We had something similar at my last job.

I was wondering about this -- thanks for clearing it up. :)

Re: Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

I only got the e-mail saying it was for Sept 3rd starting at noon. Yet when you go to the login page for the website provided it says that it starts Sept. 1st at noon. Also, has anyone tried the password and gotten a login fail? I am guessing that the password just doesn't work until the date they start selling tickets?

i input the ticket password from the email after clicking on the seating map there (the different sections you click take you to different seating) and was able to advance up to the screen where i had selected specific seats and was going to input my credit card information before i closed it. don't know if this is a fluke in the system or something..

Re: Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

I can do the same thing. I think I can go as far as I want, I just don't want to put my credit card info in. Does it do a holding thing where it won't place our orders until noon on Tuesday?

Also, where is the student section going to be? I'm thinking most students are going to buy the $15 dollar seats? Or is it even going to matter because that entire part of the park will be swarming with BU fans...

on the homepage theres a chart with the bu/unh student section area. sadly this game is over winter break when dorms will be closed so the student turnout might be a bit of a crapshoot. i know my apartment will be open to as many students who want a floor/couch/chair to crash on that want it for that game.

The Red Sox are offering a presale to season ticket holders on September 2nd. I say we all should try to get our tickets on the 1st. I can't believe they would let Sox season ticket holders have first crack at this.

Also, have ticket limits been discussed? Are you able to get just the number of season tickets that you hold? Or is there a different limit?

Hey Sean, could you email me (olo567@comcast.net) when you get a chance?

Re: Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

I decided to go ahead and go through the whole process of buying the tickets, including inputting my credit card information. I figured "what's the worst that could happen?" I completed the order with no indication of it not working properly and not going through...I received the confirmation e-mail and everything as well. Here's an excerpt:
Thank you for your recent ticket purchase. If you have any questions regarding your purchase, please contact our Ticket Services department by calling (toll free) 877-REDSOX9.

Please remember that all sales are final-there are no refunds or exchanges issued on any tickets. Be sure to visit redsox.com for the latest Red Sox and Fenway Park event news and information.

Thanks again! We look forward to seeing you at the ballpark in 2009.

So I guess I don't need to rush to get on at 12:00pm tomorrow then...? Thoughts?

EDIT: I think I just figured out the difference. I didn't get to choose the section...I guess I'll have to buy another set tomorrow then...woops.

If I try to go ahead, then I get a error message of:

We are sorry. We are experiencing technical difficulties contacting the venue's ticketing system.

Click here to go to the schedule to start a new order. If you continue to receive this error, please contact Customer Service or try again later.

Oh yeah, I also have some good news on the Epic Portrait front. BU Athletics has bought a bunch of copies (I think 50 or 60 to start) that they will be making into posters and selling. I have no idea what size they are or how much they'll cost.
