I know, RIGHT??? Jeez. No team pride AND one of the Bruins gets thrown out of the game because they said he left the bench to come to his teammates aid!! How. Can. That. BEEEEEEEE??? I mean, you said it so it must be true that NONE came to his aid. Right? RIGHT??? You're the most unbiased person here so you know I think you are totally correct in that statement. The NHL is so worried about Bruins dominance this season apparently that they penalized two players that weren't even involved (how can they be involved if they didn't come to Thornton's aid??? Unexplainable!!!) to give the Canucks the slim hope that they could maybe score. Which they did so it worked. Boy howdy, as a Bruins fan I am most disappointed that they wimped out like that. Because, I mean, if you're going to get thrown out incorrectly and have others penalized, at the very least you should do something to warrant it. But again, I'm going by what you said because you're totally unbiased and all I did was watch the game.

And how about that time Thornton picked a fight with Wiese, then hid behind a linesman after they had dropped gloves?

Wait, so the Bruins did jump in and start a big brawl when the Canucks were huddled around one of their players? I'm confused because it seems like the Bruins did nothing wrong to deserve penalties in the picture, I was under the assumption that nothing happened after that based on that photo and commentary on it. And I'm shocked you didn't stop watching after the Canucks scored the first goal after the penalties and whine that the game was absolutely over and the Bruins had no chance to tie it up and take a lead like you usually do when your teams play and give up the first goal, run, or points.

Uh oh. Scarlet served Rimmy, and Rimmy served back. The rules dictate that it is now "on."

Ooooooh, my bad. I didn't realize that your post was actually one siding with the Bruins over the ludicrousness of the penalties and that brawl. I can see that now. Totally a misread on my part!!

And ha! I did stop watching after the scored to make it 3-2. Had to jump in the shower. I figured Vancouver would score, like, four goals and it would get ugly and I really couldn't stomach that. I hemmed and hawed and turned it back on after I got dressed and saw that the Bruins had scored to make it 4-3 (yay!) and then for reasons I cannot fathom I lacked the willpower to shut the TV off. Iblamemyself. :( I think that lends credence to my Opposite Girl status and how my not watching works for Boston teams. I wish it worked for other teams, but alas. I can only do so much. You can rest assured I will not be watching the Patriots next weekend. I know how everyone here is such a Patriots fan and would love to see then win!!

The Wings/Hawks game highlighted why I still hate giving the charity points for a tie out after 60 minutes. NHL NEEDS to adopt NCAA system of no points till it's over.

And the CCHA's three point system and shootout scoring method.

I was going to make the suggestion that they should make a 3 point win system a la European football. Make winning important. I think the should ditch the shootout because I think it's lost it's novelty. Three points for a win. One for a tie.

Re: Official 2011-2012 NHL Season Thread: 2 Sedins, No Cup!

Vancouver is basically a powerplay unit because their 5 on 5 game was atrocious. They chirped, cheap shotted, and didn't step up ( okay, Lapierre actually did) when called to do so, but were more than happy to try and draw penalties. I'll give them that their PP looked solid and one can not help but me amazed at how well the unit know were one another will be, but their 5 on 5 game down low struggled much like back in june. There is a reason Boston beat this team in 7 - a team that relies on their PP like this can't/ won't bring home a ring. Despite the loss on bad calls , going both ways, Boston was a better squad and would not lose to the canuks in another 7 game series if it came to it. If anything, Boston is better now than they were last year..

Marshmont should have only gotten 4 games. They could consider the 5th as already served because the Bruins wrongly lost the services of Looch for one game.

I dunno, anything that gets that hack off the ice seems like a public service.

So Vancouver should leave the league.

Conklin starts again tonight. Unless he has suddenly found consistency, Isles should score at least four.
