That's a football penalty.

Seriously though, what is clipping? That looked like a regular hip check to me. What am I missing? Was it because it was against the boards?

It's because he hit him in the knees. 5 foot 8 guys shouldn't get on all fours to deliver hip checks for that reason. Kind of like how tall guys get called for headshot penalties.

I got out of the city ASAP so I wouldn't be near any riioting! Wait, I don't live in Vancouver.

Lucic's penalty was rescinded because he was on the ice legally.

Leafs/Wings. It's a shame this doesn't happen more often these days. I do enjoy seeing the closet Leafs fans in SW Ontario who hopped on the Detroit bandwagon years ago, suddenly come out of the woodwork for this one.

What an absolute ****show from the refs in Boston today. Luckily the rest of the day was good....until the ****show at the UNH/Maine game.

Seriously. Putrid reffing at the Garden. Not worried about the loss. ****ed at how the Canucks play though.

put the Bruins DOWN 5 on 3?

An absolute disgrace. It's almost laughable.

Hahahahahaha, Dale Weise (should have Wuss on his sweater). Couldn't back away from Thornton and hide behind the linesman fast enough! Missed the game, but saw enough of the replays that confirmed my disgust with the Can'tnucks. How does one team collect so many cowardly players? Saw an interview with one of the Sundins, don't know whether it was Thelma or Louise, but his ear looked terribly deformed - must be from all the turtling.

Next time they play would be in the Stanley Cup finals - not sure the Bruins will be there, but it's looking better than it did last year - they will definitely have to stay out the box; the best way is to avoid 1 on 5 pileups along the boards. How did that end up a 5x3? Looks like 6 white sweaters on the ice and one of them is not Schneider.....oh, they must have been on a line change.......

We'll see if 7uongo has enough air in his tires by then.

Playoff Chokers West 5, Playoff Chokers East 2. San Jose's 20-9-1 all time vs. the Caps, and Washington hasn't won in San Jose since 1993. Woof.

And apparently the Canucks are livid...LIVID, I tell ya, about Marchand's hit. So, OK, I didn't think it was that bad, but that's not the Bruins fan in me. That's the lack of understanding the penalty. I know Marchand is a dirty little player and quite honestly, the punch in the face to Salo (I think it was Salo) a few seconds before the hit was worse. And if he gets a suspension out of it, so be it. But wow, the Canucks, not the Canuck fans are ridiculously over the top.

I'd still like to know how a 1-on-6 brawl turns into a 2-man advantage for the Canucks, with a top player from Boston hitting the showers and absolutely nothing happening to Vancouver.

It is an absolute disgrace. How come none of his teammates came to his aid? What a horrible display of team pride. I'd be ashamed if I was the Bruins because no one seems to have each others backs.

I know, RIGHT??? Jeez. No team pride AND one of the Bruins gets thrown out of the game because they said he left the bench to come to his teammates aid!! How. Can. That. BEEEEEEEE??? I mean, you said it so it must be true that NONE came to his aid. Right? RIGHT??? You're the most unbiased person here so you know I think you are totally correct in that statement. The NHL is so worried about Bruins dominance this season apparently that they penalized two players that weren't even involved (how can they be involved if they didn't come to Thornton's aid??? Unexplainable!!!) to give the Canucks the slim hope that they could maybe score. Which they did so it worked. Boy howdy, as a Bruins fan I am most disappointed that they wimped out like that. Because, I mean, if you're going to get thrown out incorrectly and have others penalized, at the very least you should do something to warrant it. But again, I'm going by what you said because you're totally unbiased and all I did was watch the game.
