Eddie Shore!Should be a good weekend of ole time hockey.
Eddie Shore!
The only thing that sticks out about Saturday is Jutting's repeated comment that they "won the last 55 minutes of the game" (paraphrased). That kind of pizzes me off, and it might just be me that feels this way, because the team needs to win the whole game for it to count! The coach shouldn't accept anything less than that. Oh well, right![]()
You're not wrong, but I'm pretty confident the message given by the coaching staff behind closed doors is a lot different than what is given to the media/public; as it should be. They know better than anyone that this team needs to play better, and has the ability to play better, but publicly calling out/embarrassing the team isn't the way to get that done.
He injured his back.I hope they do better this weekend. What was the deal with Phil Cook? I didn't watch the game but were they soft goals or legit?
The link is complete with videoDavid Backes is an American professional hockey player currently playing for the St. Louis Blues. On New Years, David had the privilege to be named to the USA Olympic Hockey Team.
Since then, he has shown what it means to be a true American hero.
The night after he was named to the Olympic Roster, Backes and the Blues took on the Chicago Blackhawks. During that game, David fought Canadian Olympian Jonathan Toews.
...
A mere five nights later, David and the Blues travelled to Anaheim to take on the Ducks. When he looked up and down the roster, he had a myriad of Olympians to beat down. Backes chose sniper Corey Perry, another Canadian, and beat him down.
Got this David Backes nugget off of St. Louis Blues Game Time (great blog on SBN, if you haven't been there, check it out).

I'm more impressed with the fact that Toews puked twice after getting beaten up by Backes.
Business as usual.Mavs fall Friday 2-1 to UMD at home. UMD is a pretty solid team; now tied with DU for 1st in the WCHA (who would have thought that with all the players they lost from last year). Unfortunately, MSU's predicted spot of 8 is looking more like reality
Actually, it is probably going to be a battle with UAA if that team continues to play well to stay out of 9th place.
Even if the Mavs can catch fire here--which I hope they do--and put 4-5 Ws in a row, it is still likely 7th place at best.
4-5 Ws in a row,
That's an awful lot of shutouts for Lee to put up.
