Haha, I'll take credit for that new poster. My roommate finally breaking through with his first posts. :D We're doing our best to get more students on here! We need to one day get to six season threads like our friends at Michigan Tech! Looking forward to this weekend and closing out the league.

Hey, last year we finally got to 2 season threads, pickin up some steam :D

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

While it is nice to lock up a regular season title, it is a small portion of a bigger goal. We have done that before, I want a tournament and ultimately a national title like im sure all of you do. I don't know but the victory tonight doesn't make me gitty at all.

Wow was I ever right with all the newbie's coming out of the woodworks. While its nice, I just hope everyone is as level headed and down to earth as the core we have established on here the last couple years is.

Journey is not done, lets go the whole CCHA regular season without a regulation loss!!!

Side note, Bemidji lost to Robert morris tonight 5-2 for their second loss to them this year. ( takes the sting out a little) also North Dakota falls to St. Cloud and digs them into a deeper hole for the tourny. Michigan loses to UNO, Ferris loses to Lake st., and Alaska with a big win at OSU. Conference race behind Miami is tightening up a bit, will be interesting to watch and not be nervous.

Don't worry I have been reading this thread long enough to know how well brash comments are received ;)

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

You can feel the emotion from a crazy week in this. I just hope they can re-focus when it matters. I'm concerned about a letdown tonight, but if they find a way to win tonight, I think we'll be on our way to a #1 seed in the tournament.

Congrats to the players and coaches. Nice to see that positive emotion after a very difficult week. And thanks to BG for the very nice words and well done moment before the game.

Yea, jd I too was thinking of the '06 OSU Valentine's Day game on the way home last night--never thought Miami (or anyone) would clinch earlier than that. :)

As to the game, I think Reichard stole that one. After the first 10-12 minutes, BG had the better of the chances, IMO. Also, BG controlled play behind Miami's net a lot and walked it or passed it out for opportunities. Hope that can be fixed.

Great post-game video.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

No letdown this week. UNO in town next weekend and they are trying to sweep the Wolverkitties right now.

Lot of ugliness. We appear to have VERY short fuses (including Rico) right now. I think things should settle down after another week passes. But, the emotion is certainly being turned into goals!

Wideman's shorthanded goal was set up by not one, but two spin-o-ramas. First Palmer, then Miele, and Wideman was wide open to walk down the slot. Sick stuff.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

Just got back down to Oxford, another great showing on the road by the Miami faithful tonight. Hopefully the momentum carries onto UNO next week and we can keep up this offensive tear.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

I just love how well balanced our team is. Any player on any line can score at any time. Nine different players with at least two points this last game, that is just crazy. Four players with 30+ points, 6 with 20+, 10 with 10+ and everyone on the team that has played has scored at least 1 point including Reichard and Knapp. Hopefully this offensive explosion can continue.

Already looking forward to next week versus UNO. Go Hawks!

Yea I see and understand why emotions are high, but you have to try and control it. You can't get a DQ like hirsch did and miss a big series next weekend. UNO is playing wonderful hockey right now and dismantled Mich this weekend. UNO can get the #2 seed if they keep winning. I love the offensive output that they have shown the last two weekends and a lot of guys are getting involved. I hope they can keep it going and stay this hot into the play offs!

side note, one of the most classic moves I have ever seen with Rico bowing after getting tossed lol.

We couldn't see it from our seats but judging from the Miami fans reactions it was pretty epic. Have to keep an eye out to see if a video of it pops up.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

still concerned?? ;) lol

Not about a letdown, but more concerned about peaking too soon! Gotta have something to worry about, right?

Oh, and Dave Starman thinks that because we've dismantled the CCHA this year that maybe we won't do well when we play the "big boys." Um, Dave, we are a big boy and did you see our first half schedule?

Well they really have only had it flying for a week now, so hard to say. Could argue that they are getting things going at the right time in mid february.

Starman is just like the rest of them, for some reason there are a lot of doubters out there. Screw them all, this team is focused. It will all work itself out, they were doubters last year as well. Gladdy over at inch.com is a hater as well, but he also thinks the ECAC is one of the top conferences in the country and Union is a top tier team. Not sure what else this team can do to get respect from people besides winning it all and maybe thats what they will have to do because few people respect them. Yes a lot acknowledge they are very good, but you can tell by their analysis of them they don't respect what they have done.

Just keep winning is all you can do, another big test this weekend. Seems like we have said that a lot this year, but we haven't played well against the big boys...
