Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

Miami just plain got beat and Blasi acted like an A-- on the bench as always he treats the players like crap :( :(

You got to be frickin kidding me...Treats his players like crap?? Thats why all these kids want to play for him and there have been numerous national stories done on the "brotherhood". Another ignorant post from a person who is just jealous....

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

Only thing to say about the game last night. A teams alumni shouldn't be able to ref his own team in a championship game. We were playing shorthanded the entire night with shegos on the ice. Three times we had someone past the last defenceman and he gets tackled and no penalty called. He didn't even give us a chance. They had all the puck luck last night and we had a game of crossbars and rebounds just sitting in the crease.

Hopefully he refs our game today so he can't do the Michigan one tonight. Go wildcats.

I'm going to say that the frustration with the result last night is what prompted this post and hopefully not your honest assessment of what actually happened on the ice. I mean do you really believe that the score was the end result of good luck for Michigan and poor officiating? It isn't the refs job to give either team a chance. It is their job only to call what they see. And what of the 3 examples you gave of Miami players getting by the defense only to be hauled down? Even allowing for a minute that your call of the plays in question is correct if they score all 3 times there you still need another one. And 1 of MUs goals last night was a PP goal. Should all credit for that one go to Shegos or Wilkins (can't remember who made the call on Langlais)?

As a Notre Dame fan I am hardly glad Michigan won the game, and actually wouldn't mind seeing MU win it all, and rooted for them without hesitation yesterday. But there is no way the officials had an impact on the outcome of the game beyond what their proper role was. Miami, for whatever reason, came out flatter than flat last night, and that's why they lost.

You obviously know less than nothing about Blasi if you think he treats anyone like crap, let alone his own players...

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

I know I didn't blame cody for last night, and I don't think anyone else here did either. But I do believe we see Connor today and it might be time to make the change. When you have another guy that is just as capable sometimes making a simple change can re-energize a team, you know that. Doesn't make anything cody has accomplished any less but he has been fighting the puck lately thats a fact. Cody doesn't seem to be playing with the same confidence he had earlier in the year, it is what it is.

I have no problem with that...and my initial reply wasn't aimed at you, more a couple oters who seemed to want to place the blame on Cody.

I didn't see those. Cody was hung out on 4 of the goals. The 5th was a soft one IMO, stick was never on the ice. But last night wasn't his fault at all, he had no chance. Im more looking at the last month from the UNO series on he has been fighting it.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

I liked the way the two games were reffed last night.

IHF, you are correct, jd's comment must have be born of frustration. Miami just got it *** kicked.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

Well a win's a win. Might not of been the best game, but they did what they had to do. Much better effort tonight than last, and Miami somehow has stolen the top overall seed.

Fangers will get his wish, Its Miami against Alabama-Huntsville in round one on Saturday in Ft. Wayne!

Nice job by the boys to rebound with a win and getting something positive heading into the national tournament.

Oh ok, your an arogant michigan troll. Makes sense now...

About as clueless as a 5 cent hooker on politics....

Blasi is great with his players, know him and the program personally. Complete moronic and ignorant statement, but wouldn't expect anything less from you...

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

Just got back into Oxford, was driving all afternoon so I wasn't able to watch the game, but I'm glad to hear they were showing a little more enthusiasm. Probably a good thing I wasn't near a keyboard last night, a few hours in the upper deck with only 4 other Miami fans in shouting range had me in a tip top mood . Looking foreword to making the trip over to Fort Wayne in a week. Connor's time to shine, lets hope they come out with a little swagger against Huntsville. Love & Honor :) !

Well I can tell you this, we won't take UAH lightly...Too many scares from the CHA in thourny with Air force a few years back. ( I think they were still in the CHA ). Not to mention 3 of our 7 loses this year have come against the CHA  .

All in all, I think we ended up with a favorable draw. If it plays out how it looks, having UAH-Bemidji-Yale is solid. We are familiar with Bemidji and Yale has lost their top player and haven't played well since he went down losing to brown in the play offs. Regardless we all know anything can happen this time of year so Miami must be focused and clamp down for the kitchen sink any team will be throwing at us...

Of any of the #1 seeds, I would expect Miami to be the least likely to take UAH lightly. That said, we'd like to make that four of eight losses. :)

Putting UAH and Bemidji in the same bracket may be like hanging raw meat in front of both teams. Another UAH-Bemidji game in the NCAAs would be, well, epic, and I expect both teams would play their hearts out to get to each other.

Either way, the boys'll have to get through the Redhawks first. I'm torn in this one, because I grew up in Beavercreek and have a soft spot in my heart for Miami of Ohio. But ... not that soft. ;)

lol, well part of my wish...the rest of it involves repeated meetings in the tourney the four years after this ;)

Gotta start somewhere...:D

And Morris, Im sure UAH will play hard just to get their first tourny win. But I can tell you this, Miami will be the best team UAH has played all year. The game against Michigan and against Ohio st. the last few weeks were good for Miami, IMO. They have faced two teams already who played desperate, and even today against Ferris. So they know what to expect. The difference in the game will be Talbot, if he is on and can frustrate Miami it could help build confidence for UAH. If not it could get ugly. Shots won't come easy either.

As we saw last year, anyone can beat anyone so this is far from a given. However I really love the draw Miami got. Ill take this draw over the BC, UND, Mich, Alaska draw any day...

I've never been much on the "good loss" theory. But I have to agree 100% with it this time. It would have been oh so nice to sweep OSU and beat Michigan (imagine, knocking off two, count 'em TWO big ten schools in a row. Especially those two) but we didn't lose anything in the rankings. The only thing we really missed out on was another trophy for the case. It would have been nice to have though. Anyway, I think they will build from these two losses and hopefully go on a 4 game winning streak to end this season.

Again, agreed. Gettin past the first game, if we meet up with Bemidji St. again they just might have a little revenge factor in their game.

Funny thing is, lost two of our last 5 and we actually gained ground in the in rankings. Miami somehow squeaked out the top over all seed in the tournament. Another first for the program, and its nice to see.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

There are two teams I like more and have followed for a while after BU with them being SCSU and UNH (wife and her family.)

If they can't win it, I want you guys to go all the way and win.

Good Luck in the tourney!
