Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

Miami gamewatch in DC was fun tonight. We had a great win, and BU lost!

Cody kept us in the game early, and the constant physicality of our play seemed to wear down Ohio State enough so that when we turned up the heat in the second period, they couldn't match our intensity and the goals just went in.

Looking forward to watching tomorrow night's game online. There's a huge Miami contingent going and they're going to turn OSU's barn into our own.

Looking through stats, Wingles now has 94 points and inching closer to the 100 pt club. While Camper now has 119 points and if he keeps this pace up he will get into the top 5 all time in points. He would have to go off to get to Steve Morris's 202 total points but hey only 84 more to go, he can do it right? lol 9 potential games left this year and he is averaging a point a game so that would leave him with 73 points to get next year lol.

Sounds possible Camper will only need to average around 2 points or a little more per game next year haha

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

Staarman was actually good tonight, I thought.

He had a classic line and a great point about schilling.

He said about Cannone: "Ive said all along, put this kid in a room with the lights out and he would still hit your tape..." lol

He also made a great point about Schilling. Talk about a kid who has made the most of a situation, he was a recruited walk on last year and played his way into the line up half way through the year and ran with it. He mentioned that he is one of the most sought after NHL free agents out there because of how much he has improved over the last two years. He is a bonified Defenseman now and has blossomed into a fabulous player. That is what you get at Miami, a bunch of guys who have tremendous potentional but haven't put it together and then they come to oxford and the coaches get everything out of them.

Starmans quote of the night...

"(Steffes) one of those players that has been getting better lately, and playing well lately..."

Hmmm, interesting, given well, tonight was only his second game in the month of February.

Walked in the door after just getting home a little bit ago, hit the TV, and boom there's the game haha. Man look at that we can actually see where the puck is and tell the difference between the Miami sweater and the ice. Good game. Outscored the Bucks 16-4 in 3 games so far this season.

Go out tomorrow and get another W to keep up with Denver who had a 3-1 win over Mankato State.

Also go Bemidji tomorrow. If UNO loses they should drop out, and we'll tie Denver in PWR. We have CoP, they have the RPI, and TUC would be the same.

 hate to say it but you are far more optimistic than me lol. I don't think anyone has scored 70+ points in years in Division I hockey. Carter averages around 40 a season so I think 165-170 is more realistic but that is still remarkable and will surpass Ryan Jones and put him into the top 5 all time.

well I guess they don't give it out for assits, Campers move on Wingles goal was better IMO. Miele had better moves but didn't score, if they got his "best" moves of each game he would have more than one top 10 play. His hands are filthy....

Hey! If Paul Kariya could do it, so can Camper!
(He had 100 in his freshmen year at Maine)
