Obama XXIV: Forward ... pause ... rewind ... play

Re: Obama XXIV: Forward ... pause ... rewind ... play

It's utterly amazing how many libstains are up to date on every shortcoming, real and imagined, at Fox. I don't watch it. Why do you?
For laughs. I think I mentioned that twice now. This is where, if the situation were reversed...you'd be insulting someone for reading comprehension difficulties...an amazingly universal problem for angry, bitter, intolerant conservatards.

Speaking of intolerance, been to Chick-fil-a lately?

spend your way out of debt economics.

You're confusing the Austrian School trickle down kooks with Keynsian economists.

Keynsian says you spend your way out of a recession. You then pay for it by raising taxes and cutting spending during the good times.

Now, neither party really does the latter. But that's not Keynes' fault. And he definitely never advocated for "spend[ing] your way out of debt." That'd be the people who believe tax cuts somehow increase tax revenue, even though we're no where near that side of the Laffer Curve.

No. That's not a food joint I'd go to for a meal out...not chicken. I go out for Italian, Asian, Mexican and good ol' American...beef or ribs...that's about it. One of those. Good local American restaurant close to me...ultra conservative owner with tons of political signage on the property...anti abortion in particular. Turns a lot of people off who are former customers vowing never to return. I still eat there a couple times a week minimum. got a nice drive up window. I call, order, make the five minute trip and get my piping hot Black Russian Burger, waffle fries or cole slaw. Sometimes a big Mushroom and Swiss burger. Nearest Chick-fil-a a lot further than I want to drive for chicken.

Maybe I'll make the drive someday to picket the store.

Funny how all the genius economists on this board always forget these parts.

A man whose stomach comes first. Bravo. Maybe we should give you a Nobel Prize on spec.

Seriously... television programs are determined by both ratings and the direction that the executives wish to follow. Obviously the latter isn't going to change, but the former reports, according to Nielsen, the highest ratings amongst cable news channels. If they don't want "FAUX News" to deliver garbage on the air, don't give them a reason to do so by watching it.

Where does the Austrian school advocate spending your way out of debt, or advocate trickle down economics for that matter?

Spending your way out of a debt works when there is a limited resource, i.e. when the currency is backed by gold. In a fiat currency, that has resulted in nothing but stagflation, because you can print your way out of debt, i.e. there is no more "limited resource" of currency. This sort of thing leads to hyper-inflation.

Milton Friedman, we miss you...

Funny how all the genius economists on this board always forget these parts.

It's also funny how 2012 revenue levels are exactly the same (nominally) as they were in 2006, yet the expenditure amount has drastically changed. Funny how all the genius libtards on this board always forget this part.

It's almost as if people schooled on economic theory by community college drop-outs on right wing talk radio host don't know what they're talking about. Who'd have thought it?

Re: Obama XXIV: Forward ... pause ... rewind ... play

On one of the similar threads last week there was some discussion of appointed parties making significant decisions, health care and CFPB...my point was that the unintended consequences of opening the box to small groups of appointed people making policy decisions could be a problem. Of course, most of you are fine with it because it is your prophet that is making the calls now. When the other guys are making the calls it will be a new tune.

So, I typed and then deleted a paragraph on Cordray, the new consumer savior, and how one of his big supporters is the class action lobby. They love a guy that will come in, make a bunch of new rules, declare past practices illegal and then watch as his buddies make millions on law suits.

So where did 2 senior CFPB guys go recently? One back to the law firm he left initially, the other to start a law firm for consumer issues. Think they might have set themselves up for a few good years? The 1% is about to grow by at least 2 people.

No, I didn't forget that. I remember that all the time.

That's what happens in a republic.

That's what happens in a republic.

elected politicians appoint friends to make laws and rules impacting the entire country with no congressional oversight and right after they do so they leave and start making millions off it by suing everybody? That is what happens in a republic? I'm sure it does happen, my point was that maybe that isn't the best outcome for the people in said republic.

I don't think there's ever going to be such a thing as a fool-proof system. Every form of government (dictator, republic, even anarchy) has at least one "flaw", and humans have the uncanny desire (and ability, for that matter) to exploit the flaw to their advantage.

The right to try to get rich is in the Declaration of Independence. Nowhere is that right articulated in the Constitution.

On a slightly related topic, I was looking at V. V. Putin over on Wiki and linked over to his website. If our President could articulate in the written word, like V. V. Putin, what the country's goals are, or what he's thinking at the moment, we would be better off.

Soundbites suck.
