Re: Obama XXI: Kenyan Muslins are ruining this country!
By face it you mean accept your silly talking point?
On the contrary, Obama would be very much at home in that company. It's bizarre that people have such a derangement syndrome towards any Dem with the temerity to be president that he supposedly "runs America down." We heard the same crap about Clinton and Carter. It's just a particular type of partisan's incapacity to accept that some America values are different from theirs but have as much of a call on our historical identity. That, in fact, those are the values that make America special. Anybody can tub-thump about power -- every tin-horn authoritarian has played that same "respect my authority" game.
You guys should stop wrapping that flag so tightly around yourselves -- you're cutting off circulation to the brain.
I'm far prouder of an American president who extolls our values than some sort of zombie-like devotion to constant aggression and a petulant refusal to examine past actions and perhaps correct them (particularly when those mistakes were the reactionary excesses of a portion of the electorate not particularly noteworthy for their wisdom or honor). But that's just me... and most Americans.
"Conservatives love America the way a 4-year-old loves her Mommy. Liberals love America like grown-ups."
Liberals love America inversely to the way Jane Fonda loved North Vietnam. You use the word "zombie" to describe anyone who doesn't blame America first--for everything. Libtards' have deeply held suspicions that people who serve America are like James Mattoon Scott, or perhaps Jack D. Ripper: unhinged, spouting patriotic bromides and willing to overthrow the government or destroy the world. Your presidential nominee a few years ago made his bones by smearing an entire generation of American servicemen with made up stories of war crimes. Stories told by folks who not only weren't there, but who never served. Nowdays liberals claim to "support the troops." but that's usually a lie. Many of you want the troops to be killed in unnacceptable numbers so as to change our foreign policy. Generally, you think enlisteds are victims of John Edwards' "two Americas," poor, under educated, with no options other than the military. You guys actually don't like, respect or support our military and haven't since at least Vietnam.
Libtards are always hectoring the rest of us for believing in "simple solutions to complex problems," claiming, as you do nearly every day, a superiority which the rest of us rubes should just acknowledge. You give lip service to the concept of defending the rights of others to disagree with you, but you don't really mean it. One of the favorite libtard responses to any patriotic argument is the universal dismissive "my country, right or wrong." My response is: whose country does it become if it's wrong? Yeah, it's my country under any circumstances. Yet this bit of stupidity is accepted as libtard "wisdom."
Remember what you said on Independence day two years ago? I posted about there being a lot of greatness in America and your response was that I was being "political." In Kepler world, saying something nice about this country, especially on its birthday, is "political," and should be avoided.
"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty."
Jack Kennedy said those words. He believed them. And I believe them. And millions of Americans who have served, are serving, and will serve their country believe them. Sadly, millions of liberals don't. Millions who don't really like Ameri"K"a, because it's "racist", "homophobic", "Islamophobic," "capitalist", "right wing", "insufficiently in awe of the various socialist utopias out there" and "deserving of what it got on 9/11."
