Re: Obama XXI: Kenyan Muslins are ruining this country!

I'm going to dump this here, rather than on the other political threads. An editorial in the NYT (yes, alarm bells did go off in the house) that paints (to me) a disturbing picture:

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/13/opinion/if-it-feels-right.html?_r=1&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss

Edit in reply to Priceless's comment (above). The minute I type the url, alarm bells go off. They only stop when I leave the web site. It does not matter who or what the content is, it is the Evil Empire of journalism.

It's like walking into the Maryland Legislature and wanting to talk to a Republican member. It does not matter what he/she/me thinks, as they get shouted out by the liberal hordes.

That article was like an Old Pio, wol4ine, Plante26 combined post for the level of derp. And looking at the source itself it's an evangelical xtian lamenting that people aren't being religious enough. Or if they are religious they aren't being the right type. (Interview with the author)

Actually the idea of this study seems a lot like Ray Comfort wandering around asking random people questions on evolution. (And whatever else a ****tard like Comfort thinks can be connected to that) Really? You're surprised and shocked people can't give you detailed and well thought out answers to things they rarely if ever think about?

Obama changes the terms of the load to Solyndra at the last moment so investors get first digs at whats leftover leaving taxpayers out in the cold. Change we can believe in
As the IPO failed and the company inevitably sank in a sea of red ink, Solyndra’s panicked backers pleaded with the administration to restructure the loan terms — to insulate them from their poor business judgment, allowing them to recoup some of their investment while the public took the fall.

I read a different account of this: later investors were offered "last in, first out" terms, in an attempt to save all the investments -- Solyndra always had high start up costs and when they overran the money ran out; that was the only way to get additional loans which were, to be fair, at a time when risk was higher. It sounds like it was throwing good money after bad -- bad economics -- as opposed to A Conspiracy.

Maybe that's what happened, maybe not. Lots of emails from OMB types warning about what a bad investment Solyndra was. And emails suggesting the administration pull the plug earlier rather than later. One even warning of fallout in next year's election. The least worst thing you can say about this deal is that it was very bad, almost criminal, judgement. All sorts of warnings to stay away from Solyndra because of a faulty business model. They had 20 meetings in the WH, which suggests Deadmeat had an interest in how this turned out. If the word out of the oval was to give these guys the cold shoulder, they don't have one meeting in the WH, let alone 20.

As to "throwing good money after bad," that happens all the time in the business world, but usually not with taxpayer money. If somebody wants to spend their own money on a loser like Solyndra, who cares?

Actual article with links to other National review pages as sources and a house republican prepared pdf that gives some rather poor quotes. (no context given for them at all)

Interesting if even a majority of it is true but I'm hesitant to trust someone who writes a book like this.
The Grand Jihad: How Islam and the Left Sabotage America

ABC article and video on the situation.

What did Deadmeat (or any of the coldcuts) know? And when did he know it?

Re: Obama XXI: Kenyan Muslins are ruining this country!

It's nice to see that Republicans care about scandals again. They've pretty much taken the last decade off. Just try not to salivate on everything...the country is still cleaning the slobber marks off from the last time you trumped up charges to impeach a Democratic president.

Re: Obama XXI: Kenyan Muslins are ruining this country!

Clinton deserved impeachment for being too big a p***y to admit to getting some side action.

Scooby, apparently you aren't well acquainted with the military industrial complex; I'm reasonably certain military waste / cost overruns during the Cold War far exceeded what we wasted in Iraq.

Impeach Obama.

With that typical libtard burning desire to get to the "truth," you've already decided charges will be brought, and they'll be "trumped up." You wearing a turban?

Would it rival the Cold War on a cost per year analysis...don't know that pallets of cash just went missing. But at least we found the WMD...right?

I suppose we should just be grateful the GOP didn't just send up impeachment papers the moment Obama was sworn in.

Re: Obama XXI: Kenyan Muslins are ruining this country!

Just like WMD in Iraq. The biggest waste of money and boondoggle in US History.
Maybe so, my point is they're are the same, no matter how much either side protests, put them all in a bag, shake'em up, dump them out, you can't tell one from the other

Golden rule: whoever has the gold makes the rules.

Looks like more dirty green laundry from Solyndra. the circle of corruption continues. And the band plays on.

Steve Spinner, who helped monitor the Energy Department's issuance of $25 billion in government loan guarantees to renewable energy projects, was one of Obama's top fundraisers in 2008 and is raising money for the president's 2012 reelection campaign.

Spinner was recused from the decision to grant a $535-million loan guarantee to Solyndra Inc. because his wife's law firm represented the company
