Obama XX: Maybe We'll Even Talk About Obama

Re: Obama XX: Maybe We'll Even Talk About Obama

Only in the mind of a liberal could you have a group of people making 20% of the income while paying 40% of the income tax and think that their losing the class warfare battle.

Too funny.

In 2007.

The Top 1% had 42.7% of the wealth.
Next 19% had 50.3% of the wealth.
The next 80% had 7.0% of the wealth.

Yet, who do you want to get the money from to pay off the debt?? The 80% who only have 7% of the money? No wonder the Republicans want to balance the budget by cutting only from discretionary spending. Discretionary spending only constitutes 12% of the budget.

It is no wonder we never get anywhere.

Wealth and income are two completely different things. I could care less about someone's wealth. That is a product of what they have chosen to do with their income over time. Unless you're saying that we should punish people for making wise decisions instead of blowing their incomes on a couple nights with Charlie Sheen.

Re: Obama XX: Maybe We'll Even Talk About Obama

On an unrelated side note, Obama's term is ending soon...and it looks like there is no front running opponent. This is actually extremely rare:

Gallup: Most wide-open GOP race in 50 years

For more than half-a-century, the race for the Republican presidential nomination has always featured a clear front runner at this point in the campaign, according to a Gallup analysis out Monday. Not this time.

Those early Republican front-runners in past contests have had good odds, and have gone on to win the nomination in 8 out of 10 competitive Republican races since 1952.

Re: Obama XX: Maybe We'll Even Talk About Obama

Might actually be good news for the GOP that there is no front runner right now. It gives new blood a chance, and god knows they need it.

That seems like **** good motivation to work to get into that top 20%. At least that's how I see it, as opposed to whining about being the bottom 80.

Yeah, inheriting wealth really shows good decisionmaking.

I agree 100%. It's great fun to not have the nominee "selected" early, as has been the case in my memory.
As for VP? For remarkable parallels with today's Wisconsin, read about Calvin Coolidge's polarizing (but courageous and successful) busting of the Boston PD's union and his subsequent political career.

Are you questioning Paris Hilton's decision-making skills?
How much money has she made over the course of her being famous, just by hosting parties and putting her name on products? Would any have that been possible if that first sex tape didn't happen? Sex tape=good decision. :)

The interesting implications go back to the quote: Those early Republican front-runners in past contests have had good odds, and have gone on to win the nomination in 8 out of 10 competitive Republican races since 1952.

First, it makes me wonder if its going to take a long time for the dust to settle...and second, whether Huckabee and Romney are indeed the most likely GOP candidates due to their 'somewhat' front-running positions.

Glad to see you're still living in Fantasy Land.

So people who aren't hotel heiresses should make sex tapes to get rich? Jane Doe from East Bumflick, Arkansas can make a sex tape and get just as rich and famous? Cool.

I hope you realize that I wasn't serious about making sex tapes to become successful...

But it seems like a perfectly reasonable way to make a buck :p
Very respectable too.

Re: Obama XX: Maybe We'll Even Talk About Obama

So...you're saying you'd rather be making $30,000/year than $200,000/year?

Hey those fat cat teachers are making 30k a year and destroying the economy...those bankers and wall street aficianados making 200k a year are just scraping by man...you cant live on that! THEY HAVE KIDS TO FEED!

Who would you rather be?
