Obama XII: The shine is off the glass slipper

I expect certain reps to be bought and paid for by the oil industry, especially those from Texas. However, I thought proper decorum called for keeping that quiet, and not openly flaunting that you're merely a mouthpiece for the industry. :D

I wonder how BP's "compensation" fund will be treated for tax purposes. I suspect taxpayers, and those who receive funds, will still end up "getting it in the end".

I'm sure it was a principled stand, and not an orchestrated political calculation to ensure oil industry campaign contributions.

It's refreshing to see the GOP put their mouths where their paymasters' money is. That hasn't happened since... the health care and estate tax debates.

Wait, Keith Olbermann is too conservative for Daily Kos? I thought what he was bashing Obama for was not being activist enough, which they ought to love. But now I'm confused.

Well the Left wanted to be like the Right in their ability to work in lockstep and now they have. This is the crap Rove and Co. pulled if someone criticized Bush and it just further proves that the facts don't matter, all they care about is good press.

That they rip Maddow is even better, part of why she is ****ed is because Obama has kept almost none of his promises about Gay Rights. But yeah, she is just doing it to help ratings, not because he is as full of crap as the previous administration.

Obama is losing the mainstream left fast he needs to fix it. MSNBC, TDS, Bill Maher...the list is growing. He can't win without them.

Speculation and what ifs like this are fun, but I'm not sure what that would add to the ticket.

However, as things stand right now, I'd rather have her as the nominee in 2016 than Biden. He's run or thought about running about 15 times. He never goes anywhere with voters, doesn't represent a swing state or even region, and will be 73 I believe by that time. Clinton on the other hand most likely won the most primaries of anybody who did not end up as their party's nominee, will not be at an unprecedented age for election, and can play the "lets make history again by electing the first woman Prez" card.

Mind you I don't think the race is between these two. A Jim Webb or somebody else could jump in also and be a more viable candidate.

Barack Obama:

Traveled to Columbus, OH, to mark a major milestone on the road to recovery: the 10,000th road project launched under the Recovery Act.

Only 10,000 projects? What a failure.

Fortunately, public infrastructure never fails or needs to be updated.

Construction workers lose a days pay for a 10 minute Obama speech, what a swell guy he is

And the problem there isn't that the company is too cheesy to give them a day off with pay (or allow them to make up the hours)...it's Obama's fault. Of course, when this happened when President Bush visited, it was never his fault. But it was Clinton's.

"Three-day weekend. I can't complain," Rob Devlin told the station.

Yeah, Obama is the only president to ever allocate funds for infrastructure, what a guy

Know anything about construction companies? If you work you get paid, if not, too bad.

No, but people seem to think this stuff is cheap. To do it right is going to cost a hell of a lot more than any president has spent...but Obama's a Communist, so...

You left out the part where I said they could make up the hours. What would be wrong with them working 4-10s and taking a 3-day weekend? No, that makes too much sense. Better not to pay the workers at all and then blame Obama.

For some reason, every time I've lost work, I never made it back. The job still has to get done so they're going to do the work but the money they lost today isn't going to bills or whatever this week.

Remember your deep concern for the workers the next time there is a Republican president.

And the next time there is a labor dispute.

Like their is any difference. Oh wait, you actually believe their is.

Between Timmays jock and Obamas boxers, you need to come up for air

That's really clever. I've been on the Internet for nearly 20 years and I've never heard an insult so creative before.
