Obama V: For Vendetta

Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

Honestly, how dumb can people be? 99.9% of the people that voted against Obama voted against John Kerry. Think about that.

I agree with you that racism isn't the prime driving force in opposition to Obama, but it's possible that a hypothetical Single Issue White Racist would consistently oppose the Dem candidate because of their traditional identification with black civil rights issues, in the same way that a hypothetical Single Issue Black Racist would consistently oppose the GOP candidate because of their traditional hostility towards black civil rights issues. It wouldn't be inconsistent for an SIBR to support, say, Ben Cardin over Michael Steele.

The percentage of SIWRs and SIBRs is, hopefully, vanishingly small.

Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

Next rover will start a cafe pole with

Obama is great ___
Obama is da bomb___
Obama is my Omama___
Obama is God____
Obama > Jesus____
Other/Freddy meyer____

then add em all up and tell us that 100% of the pollsters love bho. :p

Be careful or I'll start one about your man-love for Scott Rasmussen. :D

Agreed. There are a number of sane reasons to protest the health care industry takeover.

French Rage: How dare you inpugn Comedy Central and his inarguable point that Grambling and Brown should be in a national tournament!!!

Oh God I miss those rankings. My favorite is when he did one of the NHL when there had only been one interconference game where the east beat the west, so of course the power rankings had all of the eastern teams above the western teams, but he still felt that the west was better so he wanted a way to tweak it so the western teams would be on top.

Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

You have quotes on that statement, but the link at least shows no such quote.

For example, quouting the "white hoods and ride through the countryside" part of his comment would have been an acceptable use of them.

sorry about that. I was trying to paraphrase, but left the quotes in there which could have led you to believe the words were Hank's. Fixed.

My point was just, again, that the implied correlation between opposing the growth of government and racism is a reach.

Johnson's comment shows the same hair-trigger as people who blat on about the "War on Christmas." When all you have is a hammer, everything's a nail.

Though to be fair to him, these folks probably don't have many qualms about, ahem, calling a spade a spade.

In a related story, it's too bad this author is so irritating, because this is a great example of how the Echo Chamber creates its alternative, entirely fictitious, reality.

thank you, rufus. You selfrighteous bigot.

granted, if Kerry had won, the same bunch of nitwits would be screaming bloody murder as well, as they would for any Democrat president, but you gotta admit the level of vitriol towards Obama is at an unprecedented level(guns at political events?), and there's something more to it than the fact that he beat John Mccain, and favors policies they disagree with.

I really thought it was about preserving individual liberty. Perhaps I've been naive. It's depressing.
Still, I wouldn't paint every conservative protester with that brush.

Upper class twit of the year (USCHO version).

His rant on a UNH football thread about how the Ivy and SWAC champions deserving auto bids into the NCAA Football tournament makes me smile.

I know people who wear a sidearm every day, whoopie freakin doo. Wear them in a grocery store, wear them in a resturant, why not at a political event? Its their right, at least for now;)

Agreed, and I doubt the WH was in favor turning this guy into a "martyr".
