Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

Ya know MCFan16, if you're going to give me a Neg rep for my comments below, at least have the balls to sign your name and not use a term that gets filtered. Biatch.

I'm pretty sure I said S TFU in reference to your GOP needs to **** comment, not sure why that would get filtered. If all you got were stars, I apologize.

Yes, indeed it was me and I meant to say shut the phuck up. Happy now? Continue..

Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

I love listening to moonbats tell the GOP how to fix themselves. That's super hilarious.

Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

streaker,

All good points. Regarding Obama and the message, my take is this: I think Obama was reluctant to get involved too early, as to avoid stepping on Congress' toes (the 1994 experience) and since they're 80%-90% there already on an agreement. The trick always has been when exactly to get fully involved, publicly, in the effort. In hindsight, he could have gotten into the fray a week or two earlier, but not much more than that as he had to wait and see where negotiations stood, particularly in Waxman's committee.

What I believe you're seeing now particulary in his well done town hall in NH is Obama now diving into this fully. Now he knows what some of the anti-reform rhetoric and tactics are, and can respond accordingly. Furthermore, nobody on the right has even close to his popularity or ability to communicate with the public, not to mention press coverage and dominance of the news cycle that comes with the office of the President. In particular, the euthansia argument was a terrible misstep by the right. Its easily refuted and lumps all opponents legitimate or not in with these crackpots. I know he's doing a couple more of these, and I would suspect he'll add extras if he's politically astute (as he seems to be).

So, which one is your favorite moonbat? Beck? Hannity? Limbaugh or Palin? (I'd toss in Ann Coulter, too, but I think there is some substance to her insanity.)

I only say that to balance my extreme dislike for CNBC in general, but specifically the venom spitting Rachel Maddow and Keith Obermann. :D

True to your points, but I think Obama was on safe turf yesterday. A more challenging test would be for him to do a town hall in a decided conservative state or a southern state.

That is MSNBC not CNBC...

I love how uppity Red Cloud has been of late...I keep seeing Veruca Salt whenever I read his posts :p

Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

Wait, where are the marsgriffons then??
The natural habitat of Marsgriffins is everywhere and nowhere, although rowdy parties given by disgruntled, under-40 members of the Tory party in most British Commonwealth countries are a good place to start looking. There they are known as "Marsgryphons." In the Pacific Northwest, environmentally-sensitive Marsgriffins are known as "griffeys."

Marsgriffins are self-characterized as areligious Russell Kirkian ex-Libertarians with a marginal social conscience who loathe Rand and like lager. Others characterize them as left wing or right wing as their ideological exigencies require.

The position of Grand Imperial Marsgriffin is currently vacant, the last occupier having abdicated under circumstances never fully explained. Arguably, the position was still rather vacant prior to that.

The total number of verified living Marsgriffins is zero, qualifying them as an endangered, if not extinct, species.

FYP...lets not pretend that only the Dems are supported by Lawyers ok...even you can do better than that! :p

What difference does it make if republicans have their support or not, in case you didn't know it, the Dems can do whatever they want.

This assumes they know what they want. :p

Seriously, they don't.

"I guess God has a plan for all of us."

"God's a kid with an ant farm, lady. He's not planning anything. "

Instead of whining like a bunch of petulant little biatches about "euthanasia panels" and "socialism", where are their ideas?

I agree that their methods are poor and I've already said that. The point was they don't necessarily have to have an alternative plan in writing to voice an opinion given the world will not end if the current system is left in place a bit longer.

This is where I stand - I don't like seeing the left try to steamroll this policy through without honest discourse and analysis, and I don't like seeing the right scream at the top of their lungs that the left is about to screw us for all of eternity.

I am with you. The status quo cannot go on indefinitely from an economic perspective alone, and poorly designed legislation would probably just make things worse for everyone over time. In spite of all of the screaming, posturing, falsehoods, distortions, etc., I think the Senate's "Gang of Six" is approaching this issue in a better way than anything I've seen coming from the House or 1600 Penn.

So basically you want a steel cage match between everybody on Fox, Free Republic, and talk radio vs everybody at MSNBC, Daily Kos and Democratic Underground, and when the last bloodsoaked straggler emerges victorious, we shoot them?

Cuz if that's it, I'm with you. You may have united the entire Forum.

Is it too much to ask?

That's the best idea ever.
