Bad news for ND recruiting
Bad news for ND recruiting
True, but you don't want to start losing those recruits to BC. Of course there could have been issues, i.e. maybe he really wanted to start playing next season, but trust me that's going to sting if it happens again.Since I started playing hockey, I have learned better how to live in the moment and not freak (as much) about the future. I don't care about players who are not wearing an ND jersey. I care about the 26 guys who wear the jersey now.
That was a game they should have had, but the play in the 3rd period was honestly not good enough to win. The power play entry was pitiful. Showed how much Hinostroza means to this team already imo.So we are down a Fogarty, a DiPauli, a Hinostroza, a Voran, and a Johnson. I hope we can weather the player-injury storm for the next few weeks. We need to steal a win somewhere to make up for last night.

Dude, the Irish twitter guys tweeted about Hinostroza this week. Info in web stories and injuries were talked about on the radio. Coach Jackson discussed injuries in pre game and was talked about again during the game. Not sure how you missed all of these?
The coaching staff seems to be interested in size and has in the past wanted players to spend an extra season in the USHL (like many other NCAA programs I would imagine). TJ Tynan would have spent another season there had Kyle Palmieri not played taser roulette. And one of the senior defensemen (Kevin Lind?) was ticketed for another season in the USHL because Tinordi was seen as more ready to play in the NCAA and size was likely a factor there too. As long as we continue to recruit high level kids that the other NCAA powers are looking at and the staff wants to combine size with speed, we're probably going to continue lose the occasional recruit.
I just watched the replay. He crossed checked the Lowell player who was playing the point into the Irish bench. Irish backup goalie Katunar must have been cut by the Lowell players skate as he went right to the locker room with the trainer with a towel wrapped around his hand. Hopefully he's ok.And I gotta pin the goal against on our captain's shoulders. Not a good move to take a penalty behind the play while you are killing a penalty.
If you can't say anything nice about someone, don't say anything at all. So here's what I have to say about tonight's reffing crew:
What exactly is your beef with the officials from Saturday's game?
As a neutral observer with no bias towards either team the goalie interference was questionable because there was contact from UML D. The bench minor should not have been called. Tempers flare in tight games.
UML is the better team right now, no questions asked.

Dude, I know all about WHO is out. My question is why do we never have any real idea about HOW LONG anyone is out. Jackson's ability to maintain radio silence when it comes to injuries is legendary. Our players are simply out and when we see them suit up for a skate-around, then we know they are playing. I also understand not revealing the nature of any particular injury. Again, were this team covered with the intensity and interest of other teams, we'd have a better idea on the injury front. If I missed a "tweet" that said Johnson is expected to miss 10 weeks, or Voran will be available for the Shillelagh tournament, please feel free to post a link for those of us who are challenged to understand modern media.

The bench minor was on Jackson, He talked about it during the first intermission. I guess the ref wasn't coming over to talk to him so he yelled louder and was called for it and said that goal was on him. He didn't say what he said, but I'm sure it wasn't just the volume the ref had a problem with.
I haven't seen much Jackson in person, but I haven't seen him get angry yet. To the long-time fans, how often does he do this? I've been a little peeved at watching him stand by and take stuff last year, especially after watching so much Jack Parker who never calmed down.
How's the attendance usually at the Shillelagh Tourney? Seems kinda silly to have Saturday's game overlap with football (again).
