Norwich Women's Hockey ... 2013-2014

Re: Norwich Women's Hockey ... 2013-2014

As far as River Falls goes...

They are a very good all around team. They don't have one superstar that controls their destiny, everyone contributes.

They have one of the top goalies in the country stats-wise: .943 save percent, 1.16 GAA, 7 shut outs on the year

They have the 2nd highest scoring margin in the country behind Plattsburgh, with their top scorer averaging 1 goal a game.

So here is the link for this weekend...

Question: I see there is a video feed from NCAA but is NSN there with George and Tanner?

That's just the teaser. Full preview to come tomorrow or Wednesday! :)

WDEV will be there with George Commo calling the play byplay. No Tanner though as he has previous commitments. I might be the one tapped to fill Tanner's shoes...awfully big ones to fill!

Previous commitments?! Where are his priorities:confused: Oh wait, he's finally scheduled that haircut? Nah, just kidding Tanner.

To answer your question. Regardless if they won or lost. I still would of posted my opinion after coming across that October post.

And you dig that up now ? :(

Don't get me wrong, Norwich is a good program, with a good coaching staff that has done really well in the last few years. They are going to the dance for the 3rd or 4th time in the last 5 years or so. Maybe we should be discussing that rather than digging up what someone said back in October. JMO.

I think on paper Norwich had more talent last year.

Over the years seen plenty of talented teams on paper not being able to deliver on the ice. Lots can and does go wrong in a season. Usually the stronger teams prevail, but that is not always the case. In a one and done tourney, one bad game can knock you out.

Good luck to NU and the other three teams still left standing. Have no horse in the race, but know girls on several of the teams.

Re: Norwich Women's Hockey ... 2013-2014

My biggest concern for coach Bolding is how does he keep these girls from looking past Wisconsin.

Ok so this is it eh?! Big nite for the Player of the Year deal, although the winning player/team usually doesn't do well in the tourny, so a good nights rest, get "mentally" ready, and play to win, one game at a time. That is what I would say to the girls if I were Coach Bolding. I predict Platty will win tomorrow via a blow out, and if they don't Houle should move on. The NU game will be close but our girls should prevail. That leaves a showdown between Platty and NU but lets get thru Friday first.

Staff is ready, team is ready, lets take care of business now...

Aveson from Plattsburgh. Houle won coach of the year.

Charron and Guay were All-Americans for Norwich.

Congrats to our girls!

So I guess all the pressure is on Plattsburgh to win, which makes NU the underdog... I like it! :)

NU has been an underdog all season IMHO. Just hoping to get to the 7pm game on Saturday right now. Tough and determined River Falls team standing in the way right now that is looking to make a statement for not only themselves, but the west region.

Re: Norwich Women's Hockey ... 2013-2014

This game won't even be close. The only real competition NU has played is Plattsburgh(0-2 out scored 12 rip). They split with Elmira and beat Amherst twice on a down year for Amherst. Beating St.A's 4 rip is impressive but I do not think NU is ready for the train that is about to roll through them! UWRF 5 NU 1. If it's even that close. :D
Too much scoring power on the UWRF club.

Now that wouldn't be any fun would it? :)
All in good fun!
