Norwich Women's Hockey ... 2013-2014

Re: Norwich Women's Hockey ... 2013-2014

You can tell by my username I am not a Norwich fan.......Just curious why many posters from the west post with such a "smack" attitude ??....it is the same on the men's side......you can say the same thing without talking smack!!

Don't judge us by that guy!

Re: Norwich Women's Hockey ... 2013-2014

Ok so this is it eh?! Big nite for the Player of the Year deal, although the winning player/team usually doesn't do well in the tourny, so a good nights rest, get "mentally" ready, and play to win, one game at a time. That is what I would say to the girls if I were Coach Bolding. I predict Platty will win tomorrow via a blow out, and if they don't Houle should move on. The NU game will be close but our girls should prevail. That leaves a showdown between Platty and NU but lets get thru Friday first.

Staff is ready, team is ready, lets take care of business now...

Platty dodged a bullet... Ref's provided the gun...

c'mon now gojackets. You yourself have stated in the past about no one talking any smack. I'll tone it down.
Like I said just having fun! Hopefully this game will have more scoring from both teams!

Hardly a blowout... and with equal officiating the outcome might be different...

Re: Norwich Women's Hockey ... 2013-2014

This game won't even be close. The only real competition NU has played is Plattsburgh(0-2 out scored 12 rip). They split with Elmira and beat Amherst twice on a down year for Amherst. Beating St.A's 4 rip is impressive but I do not think NU is ready for the train that is about to roll through them! UWRF 5 NU 1. If it's even that close. :D
Too much scoring power on the UWRF club.
2-0 Norwich in the first

ok, we get it. you don't like the officiating..... stop crying about it. St. Thomas could have been called for a few more penalties but they weren't, Plattsburgh could have been called for more penalties but they weren't. Get over it and enjoy the rest of the games.

Re: Norwich Women's Hockey ... 2013-2014

NU has been an underdog all season IMHO. Just hoping to get to the 7pm game on Saturday right now. Tough and determined River Falls team standing in the way right now that is looking to make a statement for not only themselves, but the west region.

Geez, I got it all wrong, at least the Platty blowing out St Thomas part. I liked the way River Falls played tough till the end but 4-2 was about right. So given the embarrasment the Tommies gave Platty, I'm feeling pretty good about the 7pm game, at least from a "mental" stand point. Platty may have the "player of the year" on their side but as mentioned earlier, that may be a good thing for NU.

The NCAA video feed was decent, with good camera angles from behing the net but the play x play guy... well... sucked. Sorry fella, don't quit your day job. Where's George!?

Didn't see the first game but no complaints on the Reffing so far, except for quick whistles, that can work both ways.

So at the end of the day, so far so good :)

Well you got the creme of the crop today. The announcers on the D1 feed from Hamden were ten times worse. (I watched both feeds). There would be repeated stretches where they would not say anything (dead silence while play was continuing) and then the color person would chime in with an observation.

And that silence was the best part. I agree that the D-III announcer was the better of the two, although he sounded like his day job was doing reports on grain and stock prices on some AM station. Did he get more animated on the goals at least? While I was listening, there weren't any goals.

I would like to know what the embarrassment was.....The Tommies goalie kept them in the game....she made 63 stops!!! When you run into a hot goalie, anything can happen and she almost stole one from Plattsburgh.

The Cadets better come out flying and get on the board first (help take the crowd out of the game, because there will be a few Cardinal fans in the stands) or I think maintaining the mental edge will be difficult and make for a long final.
GOOD LUCK to Cardinals and Cadets!!!

It's not a "hot goalie", Reidel is that good. Her only loss on the season came in the season opener against River Falls which was a dismal performance. She didn't play in the two losses to Stevens Point or the loss to Gustavus(until the final 5 minutes), and wasn't credited with the loss to Bethel.

She's currently 18-2-3 with 1.23 GAA and a .952 Save %. The only goalie in the country that played over 1000 minutes with better stats is Aveson

The embarrassment is that any east team should beat a west team by at least 10 goals. The fact that it took Plattsburgh 75 minutes to score one is embarrassing.

You commented on the west talking smack...a little respect both ways would be nice

I didn't talk smack...and who said the east should beat the west by ten goals? I give the Tommies a lot of respect... they played well and whether she is a hot goalie or this is how she always plays she was the difference in the game...without her it may have been a 10 goal game. I think that is giving respect. She faced 64 shots...and stopped 63...that also says she needs a little more help from her defense.

haha...this is rich...made me laugh out loud! Love it when the west gets all its feathers ruffled up!! Makes for inane comments like this! :)
