Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

HOLY ****. this team make the NC game. What a turn around from two months ago. What a job by Cogs and Co!

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

Great job. I'll freely admit I did not have this team penciled in the NC game 2 months ago.

Nice job by the 5 seed. SNC has come a long way since Nov. Good luck tomorrow

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

The Green Knights played an excellant hard hitting game. What a great job in the goal for the freshman. Good luck tomorrow.

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

Way to go West! Too bad SNC had to win an extra game to get to the final. Too bad all the folks out East don't get a chance to see the other top Western teams play.

Maybe the West is gaining a lot of ground on the Eastern teams. It appears that way anyway.

Your western team just had a great win against a very good Norwich team. Why do you continue to whine? By the way, That was a good game SNC, you really proved yourself this afternoon.

I agree. SNC is a very, very good western team. There just isn't as many very good teams in the west this year. Just who was going to be forced to a play-in game that wasn't??? Norwich, Oswego, Amherst or Plattsburgh? Certainly not according to the numbers. There isn't as many teams period, for that matter. Enjoy the big-time victory over a super team. Penalties did in the Cadets, no flow to their game today. SNC plays a tough, defensive style that frustrated the normally high flying Cadets.

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

agree their flow was no good as /the pens....Thomas miss on the shorty was a killer, also a HUGE save by Jacabson in the 1st period at the start was again HUGE.......I thought the refs called it close......

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

No one is ever crazy about "play in" game; we perservered and now defending our national title.
Outstanding job by freshman goalie Jacobson!

Geez are you kidding me! What do you mean there isn`t that many good teams in the west...you arent giving much credit to the NCHA teams , I think 1/2 th teams in just the NCHA could compete very well and win against the other 3 teams in the semis, throw in Gustavus and Adrian from the neighboring leagues and you have hell of of bunch of good teams. More playoff bracket spots open for east teams to get in.I wish the money was there for NCHA teams to travel and play Curry or Wentworth, Castelton Plymouth etc and I think you will see west team kick ***

A couple of notes...

* - St. Norbert's sixth national title game appearance is second to Middlebury's 10.

* - St. Norbert has made the title game in each of the last five even-numbered years, including 2011.

* - St. Norbert's win over the No. 1-ranked Cadets is the first time SNC hockey has ever beaten the No. 1 team in the USCHO Poll. The Green Knights were 0-4 previously.

* - St. Norbert has now won 12 of its last 13 NCAA Tournament games, including a current winning streak of 6.

Any pre-championship game stuff for SNC and it's fans in Lake Placid like in years past?

What a dumb post.

I'm guessing zigzags for awhile then early to bed. The fans need to be rested to make noise tomorrow. The work isn't done.
I was asking about tomorrow mainly. Last trip to LP St Norbert had some sort of get together prior to game time. Due to terrible travel yesterday, I'm not as worried about celebrating tonight...And you're right, work isn't done

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

Jaslow's recap is posted. Available on Men's D-III front page, Men's D-III scoreboard, and under men's recap. If you are interested, the women's Plattsburgh-RIT recap is also posted in the same locations for women. I'll be updating the Amherst-Oswego score on the D-III men's front page after each period.

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

I have Eastern Homer Bias, but alas, my call:

St Norbert 3 - Norwich 1

Sorry to the Norwich fans, two great teams, one had to loose, but I still think Norwick gave up the SH ENG with 10 seconds left just to prove me wrong ;)
