Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

I'm not sure where I was complaining. I just said your post was dumb, which it was. Your ignorance of the level of play in the western region is comical. Since there has been a D3 tourney, I believe a western region team has won it 10 times, eastern region I believe 16 times. If you don't count Middlebury, the east has only won it 8 times. Take that info into your buddies "smoke filled room."

P.S. you're not the only person on this forum who played NCAA D3 hockey.

Actually, it's comical how many times you can be wrong in a row. I'm not 38, don't play hockey anymore, don't drink beer anymore, didn't say I was the only former player on this forum. OK, let's back out Middlebury from your argument to make the numbers look more favorable to the west. While we're at it, can we back out St. Norbert too? I've seen dozens of Western games over the years including many shellackings they've taken in the Primelink Shootout. I've seen dozens of games this year online. No doubt, there are some teams that would be competitive in the east. Not sure why you initiated this exchange by calling my post dumb, but I'll cease my exchanges with you now so you can "hit the trails".

What's dumb about it ? You obviously don't understand how the field is arranged. I''ve followed D3 for as many years as I can remember and follow it quite closely. Oh yeah....aside from playing in this league, participating in this tournament and having friends "inside the smoke-filled room", I have no qualifications to form an opinion???.....You are the rare "sore winner" !!
You implied that you played right here. You're a Moron and I'm done debating with you.

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

I wasn't looking to be the third man in or anything but was wondering what I had missed.

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

Nothing much missed. Just the youth of America being rude and disresectful again. Hiding behind a laptop makes them brave.

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

Russell: St. Thomas played SNC a lot tighter than Norwich. So yes, like St. Thomas, GAC, St. Olaf, CSS, Stevens Point and even River Falls. All teams that would have faired well in the NCAA's.

This a great time for western D-3 Hockey.

Great Job SNC!

...and let us not forget that Eastern powerhouse Amherst's game vs. Western powerhouse Lake Forest (5-22-0 and in 7th place in the MCHA) with an unimpressive 3-0 win. Face it Russell, everyone of these teams has a bad game.

westscout I'd add MSOE and Adrian to your list of western teams that could 've faired well with this Final Four.

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

Thought that this might have been corrected by the time we arrived back in De Pere.
Attached SNC/Norwich game report, twice refers to the St. Norbert "Saints"...
How does stuff like that happen at this level??

Pete,

I'll make the corrections. I did not write the men's recap as I was in Rochester with our women's team. Only recap/story all season that was not written by myself about men's or women's hockey.

Sorry but I couldn't be two places at once.

Thanks Prez..
I knew that you would gotten it right if you would have been in LP!!

I wish I could have been there too but both Norwich teams were playing on the same weekend at the same times in two totally different places.

Hopefully we'll be able to meet up again here at some point. I think the only time we've ever officially met/talked was in Elmira in 2006 for the first pre-determined site.

Judging by the way things have gone lately...I'm sure Norwich and St. Norbert will see each other here real soon around this time again in March next year if everything goes well.... ;)

Face-offs
I was surprised that no one has posted about the face-offs for the Norwich- SNC games. Granted I normally mostly see Wicks games but it seems to me there are typically a number of players thrown out of the face-off during a game. There were zero or very few thrown out during this semi-final. It seemed to me the zebras were trying to explain to players what they needed as if they were Pee-Wee hockey players. Sometimes the face-offs looked more like a rugby match.

Yes, that was the only chance we have had to talk hockey together. Like you said, we should have more opportunities to do so in the future.
Enjoy your summer....Oct. can't come too soon for me:):)
