I'm thinking they have a plan for Thomas. They've seen this before in past FF's. Last year they dealt with Thomas and two years ago they dealt with Thomas and musslewhite.

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

SNC has played two games on big ice this year when they played at Marian for the Thanksgiving tourney.
I did not attend the games, but Pete may be able to help.
The CCC does house an Olympic sheet, so opportunity for practice is there for them.
Just fired up the laptop in LP.
Yes, SNC played at Marian twice versus Lawrence and Marian. Did not have any trouble adapting to the big sheet.
They did practice on the big sheet @ the CCC, prior to heading to LP.
Things are pretty quiet here. Not many people on Main St. when we went to pick up our tickets,,,,

The above is a link to the Greenby Press Gazette story on St. Norbet's trip to Lake Placid to play Norwich, which includes a video clip with some of the most interesting interview's I have seen this year. St. Norbert record at Lake Placid is 3-1, the only loss being the long OT game with Norwich a couple of years. From the video clips it looks like St. Norbert's has good size.

There was an article in the local paper in Vermont about Norwich (protected site) which said Norwich went to UNH to play on the big ice surface. Norwich has already played two games at Middlebury on its big ice this year and from what I can remember the big ice didn't effect Norwich and St. Norbert the last time they played at Lake Placid. Does anyone know if St. Norbert's plays on any big ice out west?
This video is from the big sheet at the CCC.

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

Eight hours to puck drop at LP. I have the Long Trail Ale in the fridge, Danish Blue Cheese and crackers are ready. Waiting to set up the laptop to the wide screen for the games. Just hoping NCAA.com has a better/stronger connection to the internet than NSNSports.net. I would hate to miss any of the action due to internet lag.

GO NORWICH!!!

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

The Burlington Free Press has a good story on Norwich vs. St. Norbert in today's paper. Sorry, but I don't know how to post the link. Just pull up the Free Press on google and go to the link.

There is this article from 3/15/2012.

Norwich faces familiar foe St. Norbert at Frozen Four
Teams meet for third straight year in NCAA tournament

The New England Hockey Journal has this story too.

Excerpt -

In the 29-year history of the Division 3 men’s hockey championship, never have two New England programs squared off for the title.

Still some work to do, but the pieces are in place for the ECAC East champion Norwich and NESCAC champ Amherst to be playing for a national championship in Lake Placid, N.Y., on Saturday night.

Norwich, a perennial power under coach Mike McShane (Wakefield, Mass.) is in the Frozen Four for the third straight year and just two wins from its fourth national championship.

Amherst? A little less history. This is its first trip to the national semifinals. But there’s just as much excitement.

Here we go in a few minutes. From the SNC side of things my concern is their youth on D and in net as well as Norwich's attacking style. SNC can't start passive and let Norwich outshoot them 2 to 1.

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

Mine is good. In case you need an update, Norwich tripping penalty with about 30 seconds left in the period. SNC created a scramble near the crease with about 10 seconds left but couldn't bury it.

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

Poor 1st for NU, too many penalties, no flow. Gotta kill this one off and pick up the pace.

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

I have both the women's feed and men's feed running with no issues on either.

After 1 Period of play - SNC 1 - Norwick - 0

After 2 periods of play - RIT 1 - Lady Cards 0

I had both games as well, plus the Denver -- UMD game and everything went! I was able to logout and get everything back. Thanks for updates during that time.
