Re: Norwich hockey 2012-2013: Our thread closed before Owsego's

Klinger is in Stockton's training camp. With the lockout extending, don't be surprised if these guys don't last when the AHL cuts are made and normally AHL players end up in the ECHL. For the guys trying to make a go of it in the lower minors, this is a rough time for them.

If he makes the team, I'll have to drive up and catch one of the games in the three game series when Stockton plays the Eagles. Which part of the the East Coast is Stockton on? Which part of the East Coast am I on for that matter. And don't give me the nonsense that ECHL doesn't stand for East Coast Hockey League - if not that what does ECHL stand for?

ECHL stands for nothing. It used to, but not anymore.

I've heard that before, but that makes no sense to me. How can an acronym stand for nothing? When the College Board decidend to admit that their test was not an aptitude test, they changed the interpretation of the SAT from "Scholastic Aptitude Test" to "Scholastic Assessment Test."

Furthermore, we all know that HL in ECHL stands for "Hockey League." That's all right. In baseball there are Pacific Coast League teams in Omaha, Round Rock, TX and even Memphis.

I still contend, since they never changed what ECHL stands for, that EC means East Coast. That means I'm just south of some part of the East Coast.

Somebody drop a puck...

Just for you, the Easy Coasting All-Star Game will be played in Loveland, Colo. on Jan. 23, 2013.

The Budweiser Events Center is 39.0 miles north of my house. Between the Eagles and the Cutthroats and DU, I may get to see some hockey this year. (That and NSN, of course).
IIRC, the speed limit out there is 85 mph on the interstate up to Ft. Collins??

It's 75 - still seems fast coming from a place where 65 is the max of the maxs.

Well tonight my sister, her husband, and their Rook are eating dinner @ Longhorn. Wonder if Charlie will be there?

As Predicted:

The Oilers sent a goalie down from the AHL to the ECHL, and bingo the goalie who was #2 became #3, and pro teams don't carry 3 goalies

The following players have been released from Thunder training camp:

• Chris Corbeil (LW)
• Ryan Klingensmith (G)
• Kyle O’Kane (RW)

It's confirmed. NU prof will be a Thompson Arena for the NU/DC game. It means my streak of 32 consecutive seasons with at least one NU game will be extended

Make sure you stop me to say hi if I'm running around with my head cut off.

Will do. We will be on a trip to visit Vermont, and I got a dispensation from the boss to go down to Hanover :) She's going to be a at gathering with her former students.

Just noticed on the Dartmouth College web site that one of there top recruits, Nick Bligh, played for the South Shore Kings of the EJHL. He is on watch of NHL Central Scouting and had 85 points for the Kings. Norwich also has a recruit from the Kings, Dean Niezgoda and Senior Kyle Thomas also player there so it could be interesting to watch the three play. Hard to believe the season will start in 1 week.
