Colin Mulvey tabbed ECAC East Player of the Year to lead strong Norwich contingent on ECAC East All-Conference awards.

Mulvey, Janke and Cotnoir 1st team.
Thomas & Allan 2nd team.
Lyrvall Rookie Team
Czarnota Honorable Mention

Well deserved congrats to Colin!

Re: Norwich hockey 2012-2013: Our thread closed before Owsego's

Am I reading a previous post correctly, Cortnoir First team and Thomas second team ?
Cortnoir is a very good player but was hurt and only played 17 games and was 20th in the league in scoring.
Thomas had an off year for him but the numbers are the numbers 15 league points and 25 th in scoring.
sure , last year he was an AA and had the numbers to back it up but this year , second team all conference?
and before you start telling me it isn't all about points, it is about points for these guys, they are scorers and it was about points for Mulvey , who deserved player of the year.

Am I missing something? The preview of the SM game indicates that the game is tonite....I thought it was Saturday..

I honestly thought Allan was the one jipped for 1st team. The Mulvey/Allan/Janke line has been the fuel for this team all season.

When healthy, Cotnoir is Norwich's best two-way forward and the team's leader hands down. I was a bit surprised he got first team, but I don't think his selection over Thomas for first team is far off. Kyle has had a good year but not a great year like his freshman and junior seasons were.

Remember he had a seven-game goal in the middle of this season too.

Regardless, I think it's incredible that the ECAC East coaches thought that all five Norwich forwards deserved recognition on the first and second teams. That's awesome and a distinguishing tribute to how great this senior class of 2013 really is.

Re: Norwich hockey 2012-2013: Our thread closed before Owsego's

Norwich had a very good team. Mulvey stepped up big time.If he didn't ......
I agree , WHEN, Cortnoir is healthy he is one of the best, maybe the best, in the league, but he wasn't healthy. He only played in 11 games in the league.
As for Thomas, he had 7 league goals.
now if the coaches were voting for potential or past history, I get it but if on actual production, I don't see it this year for either of them.
Maybe the vote should be taken before the season starts based on prior production.
In any event , congrats to NU for a very good season, not their best but very good.

Go Cadets tonight against Southern Maine!

11th ECAC East Tournament title and long term fourth national championship title are all that matter now.

OK, supposedly the Norwich Women's game is supposed to be video streamed this afternoon @ 3:00PM. I can't get the nsnsports.net to open. Anybody else having this problem? And will it be fixed before tonight's men's game?

Re: Norwich hockey 2012-2013: Our thread closed before Owsego's

And VOILA!! we have the game...Thanks.

Edit: Which the Lady Cadets won 6-0. On to the Championships!

Great men's game 2-0 win over a much better than an 8 seed USM team. At least they didn't have Torris in goal or we might still be playing.

On to ECAC East Final Four and an other visit from Castleton.

Occasional shades of Klinger between the pipes last night.

I've seen a lot of goalies come and go, and comparing somebody to Klinger is high praise, indeed. I think that Czarnotta has had a very similar career arc. Klinger came in as the walk-on who would dress as the third string goalie, and get lots of reps in practice, but somewhere along the line he just got it. It did look like the right call for last night for sure.

Klinger was, in my opinion one of the best we've ever had at staying cool under pressure. Some of the other goalies we mechanically better, but Klinger had the battlefield mentality to stay cool.

What you describe is what I was seeing last night, but didn't have the talent to articulate. Cool under fire in both the 2nd and 3rd when all around him was chaos.

He didn't panic last night with two minutes of 5 on 3 and pucks ringing off the posts :D

I would recommend that you get your tickets early and get there early, parking will be a premium.

It's about 1:15 AM and I just tried to get tickets (early ) on line. There were maybe 10 seats available in the whole arena and none are together. What is up with that? I know that Norwich needs to set aside tickets for the other teams, but this is crazy. I noticed the same thing last Sunday/Monday when I got the last two tickets with seats together for the So. Maine game. Three days later, there were a ton of seats available, whole rows as a matter of fact. If I buy tickets now, can I trade them in for seats together? Can't wait for my number to come up for season tickets:)

I have been asking the same question for a couple of yrs now. In the past you could get on and get good seats asoon as they went on sale now they put just a few online for sale in the begining and they seem to put more on later in the week. Its a gamble do you get ur ticket now and have the family spread all over the rink or do you take a risk on waiting to see if they make more available. Thats why its so hard to make plans to bring friends or family to watch a game.

Good point. Norwich would sell more seats in the long run if you bring your family and friends to the game.

First you give the Season ticket holders a chance to buy their seats, then you have to allow for the seats allocated for the visitors. Once the deadline for season ticket holders runs out (Wednesday), and they know how many seats are taken by the other schools, then they can release the rest.

Actually, NU's policy is a whole lot better than what they do at Plattsburgh, which is absolutely silly.

You can always just buy SRO tickets and take a chance.

Many season ticket holders, and others, buy their seats, but then spend the entire game being rail rats, watching from the upper promenade. SRO ticket holders often gravitate to the sold but unused seats as the game progresses.
