Re: Norwich hockey 2012-2013: Our thread closed before Owsego's

Nikita Kashirsky '09 signed a contract today with the Reading Royals of the ECHL. Reading is the ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals.

Nikita returns to the States and the ECHL after previously playing four seasons with the South Carolina Stingrays and the Gwinnet Gladiators. He also has played 39 AHL games between the Springfield Falcons, Manitoba Moose and Hershey Bears.

He played one game with Moscow Spartak of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) earlier this season during the NHL lockout.

Just watched his You Tube video of him on the mid season thread by VT Bragging. Great size, good hands and pretty agile. Could be an awesome offensive defenseman for the cadets.
Happy New Year everyone.

Juniors <> NCAA. There's that little thing called classroom that irritates a few players, plus the game is played and called differently than juniors (you mean I can't throw down when I get cheap shotted?)

That said, he has size and apparently can skate. It will be interesting to see where he gets slotted in the blueline corps.

He is majoring in Electrical Engineering, so no problem in the classroom.

...hasn't taken a test yet, so its a bit early to reserve a diploma...good luck to him - hope he makes the most of a great opportunity...

Watts that? Hope he doesn't get Ohm sick. Though I did here he is well grounded and has the capacitator to be a good blueliner.

Typical Clarkson type, can't spell "hear". Actually your Electrical terminology based reply was well done. Happy New Yeasr!

There's a guy who used to teach stats, calculus and diff eq who is no longer there to provide resistance or impedance to his current progress :D

Re: Norwich hockey 2012-2013: Our thread closed before Owsego's

Throughout last night's game between NU and Conn College, I kept trying to figure out why the shots of goal was so lopsided--or how in the end NU managed to rack up six unanswered goals.

I concluded that it must have been the Camouflage uniforms. The Camels could never find our goal--and like wise in the 3rd period their goalie never saw the Cadets coming.

Actually, the Camel goalie kept them in the game and did a great job for over two periods and a barrage of NU shots. For those of you older Cadets who still have some memories intact--I want to see the team wearing pile caps "with flaps down!"

But the cammo was a nice touch for sure to honor the Vermont National Guard. On the other hand the camouflage uniforms certainly does not help the clarity of the picture on my PC screen-as it was impossible to read the numbers and just a bit blurry. But I did love the added touch and hope they can wear something similar when they visit us inMaine later this month.

Great job Cadets--now its time to remind Neumann coach Dominick Dunn, why he went to Norwich. However, we are all proud of what he has done with that program and its nice to see him home again. :)

Who? Wasn't there a romance writer named Dunn?

Any status on the new cadet #7 Ryan Whitell? I see he did not dress for last night's game.

Re: Norwich hockey 2012-2013: Our thread closed before Owsego's

Don't think Whitell or Schreiner playing tonight. MCShane interview between periods with George Commo indicates only changes will be Forkey in on the Cotnoir line, Duszynski moves to the Niezgoda line and Morgan sits for the night, along with Fulton so that Gatien gets some ice. In net, my favorite Matic Marinsek. Should be a good game.

Unfortunately Matic did not look good from where I sat (2000 miles away, but with HDTV enabled). Sure he got hung out to dry on a few occasions, but I didn't think he looked as sharp as he did against Platty

Interested to know how the video stream was tonight, we fixed the problem we had last night and did it in HD.
