I not sure what the story is on Scott Schroeder but a lot of fans cosidered him one of the best all around forwards to play at Norwich along with his brother who only played one year. I will always recall there defensive play against St. Norbert's in the NCAA finals a couple of years ago. Best of luck Scott the future.

I had heard that Scott was thinking about not returning as early as last spring. Don't know the details, but I'm not surprised. Disappointed, but not surprised. He's a really well put together young man.

Hockey season can't get here soon enough. This community needs a ray of sunshine right now.

That is truth. According to my wife, the campus is pretty somber after the latest event.

:( :( :(

I just went to WPTZ.com to see if I could figure out what the hell you guys were talking about... it didn't take me long. :(

For those who are not local to the Upstate NY/VT Region who are curious... http://www.wptz.com/news/29375115/detail.html

http://www.norwichathletics.com/sports/mice/2011-12/releases/Alumni_Weekend_2011

2011 Alumni Weekend details announced. November 4th and 5th are the dates for the annual Maroon & Gold Intrasquad scirmmage slated for Friday Nov. 4 at 7 p.m.

Prez any idea when the Norwich Hockey Team press release is going to available online. Also do you have any insight on freshman Nevin Lawler who is listed at 5-4. I can never recall a player that small playing for Norwich but after watching UVM a small player can be very productive. Wasn't his sister on the US Development hockey team or some other USA team. Speaking of small players didn't NEC have a small agressive player that always seem to play well against Norwich a few years ago?

Lastly do we have to contact the Dartmouth Athletic Department for the Dartmouth/Norwich game tickets in a couple of weeks.

Hawk,

Are you referring to the media guide when you said Norwich hockey team "press release"? if you are referring to the media guide, that should be online by mid to late October.

Nevin Lawler is all of 5-4 and if you read my press release on the incoming class I put out in late August you would have saw I made mention to the fact that he is the brother of US National Teamer Erika Lawler.

Last we heard, Dartmouth hasn't released any information about the ticket situation for the game on Oct. 23. But yes, they would be your contact source.

I called their box office. They told me that all hockey exhibition games are free to the public. First come first serve for seats. My concern is that it isn't being classified as an exhibition game. The person at the box office had no idea. The Dartmouth website lists the game as a "scrimmage," and sites like USCHO don't even list the game on either teams' schedule. I hope we are allowed to see it. "Scrimmage" doesn't breed confidence, though.

For those of us outside the area, is the game (scrimmage) with Dartmouth going to be broadcast or webcast? And if so, how about the particulars? Thanks.
