Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Prez can you remember a time when Norwich had its two top forwards out for an extended period of time like this. Also is there any news on St. A's petition to go D3 in all sports. After the earlier announcement I haven't heard a thing. Should be interesting to see tonight if the move to D3 has increased there talent level. With there outstanding rink and being an hour away from Boston would be a big draw for a student athletic. Should be a very difficult game for Norwich even if the two players are ready.

Prez and/or Tanner. First period of tonight's broadcast was perfect...no buffering at all. A real pleasure to watch. Unfortunately, right from the start of the second, it has been buffering to beat the band. Any idea about what's going on. I switched from AOL to Google and then Firefox, but there is no difference. Sorry to complain, but I really love watching the cadets play. Whatever you were doing in the first period was working and made me confident the problems were over. Thanks for all of your help.

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

With two minutes left in the second, the buffering stopped. I am watching on Google Chrome, as I did for the whole first period. If Georgia Peach hasn't had any issues on Chrome, maybe my issues originate from my end. Anyone have any solutions if that is the case? Thanks.

I watched on Safari. No problems, but two weeks ago (same browser) useless

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Not only did we not have any buffering problems but we also were watching it connected wireless through Blue Ray on our TV. Don't ask me how, that's my wife's expertise.

Last year Niezgoda and Pelletier missed 4 and 6 games to start the year.

Saint Anselm is still committed to dropping to D3 at this time. It's a five-year process though.

Looking forward to tuning in for the home NSN broadcast this evening. Is there any update on Will or Dean's status? Also, for those who are in-the-know as far as the NSN broadcast goes, is the station going to be using the HD cameras this year - it makes a massive difference.

All Norwich home games have been in HD since last year.

Prez from your game write up I noticed that St. A's won the face off battle, 41 to 22. I am sure coach McShane will look to improve this stat. I don't know if St. A's has improved this year but they gave the Cadets quite a battle last night. Ostepchuk was outstanding again.

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

After hearing George and Coach McShane talk about the injuries on the team before today's game, and seeing two more go down (hopefully not serious) during the game with NEC, I am super impressed with how well these young cadets are playing. Today's game was by far the best of the first 5 they have played and you can almost get a sense that their confidence is higher. The fact that the lines keep changing and some players are not playing their usual positions, just brings home the fact that these kids can play. There is a lot of talent on this team and when they are all healthy...I can only imagine. Congrats to all the players and coaching staff for your success so far under some tough circumstances. I am proud to be a Norwich fan.

By the way, the broadcast today was perfect! My thanks to all of you who work hard to bring the games to those of us far away from Northfield.

I would agree with all of this 100%. Hope some of the injured start coming back. It's not like pro hockey where you can just bring somebody up the next level down.

Alec Brandrup has been an absolute horse out there for NU on the blue line through five games. The minutes he is logging with all the injuries and uncertainty on the backend is incredible.

Just wondering how all of our injured Cadets are doing. I think I heard that Pelletier was going to be out for the first two weeks of conference play. I am hoping to see him on the ice this weekend if he is doing okay. Any news on Harbor and Sullivan who went down in the NEC game last Sat? Do we have enough d men healthy enough to play with out Byrne moving back to the blue line? I think he did a good job on defense last week, but the team also needs him up front in the corners. Brandrup has been awesome but he can't play the whole game (or can he:rolleyes:)! It's nice to know how deep our bench is, I just didn't think we would find that out so early in the season. As I said before, all 27 guys can really play and they know how to dig down deep to pull out the wins. Good luck to all of them this weekend.

I was wondering the same thing about the injured players especially with the Prime Link next weekend. Just an observation but Norwich looks a little thin of experienced D this year.

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

That was one of the worst performances I've seen by a Cadet team in a long, long time. I wish I could explain it, but I can't.

I was thinking the same thing and quite honestly, a very painful game to watch. I am sure it was very painful for the cadets to play too. I hope this game gets the "bad night" out of the cadet's system and they play more competitively from here on in. I can (and I am sure McShane and the team can) deal with losing when you played a good game, but that was not what happened tonight. Shake it off guys, learn from the mistakes and start all over again. I will (and I am sure all of the out of town fans will) be watching tomorrow's game and support your efforts. Go Cadets!

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Yikes! I had to walk away from the computer - simply too painful to watch, Not convinced this was just a "bad night," but an indication of how this season intends to play out.

You should have been at the game if you think it was too painful to watch. I agree that this was not just a "bad night." :(

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

I guess I should consider myself thankful that I wasn't able to watch it last night.

I haven't been able to watch too much hockey this season yet, but what I have seen hasn't been very impressive. At least, it hasn't been very impressive for Norwich standards. I know everyone yesterday was raving about how well the Cadets have performed with all the injuries, so I told myself that perhaps I wasn't giving the team enough credit. But, I think there's reason for concern.

We're a spoiled fan base. I realize that. Usually the Cadets have a couple down games a season where the squeak by lesser teams, but for the most part we're used to seeing them dominate. Even games where they may win by 1 or 2 goals, they usually double-up their opponents on shots. We haven't seen that this season. Teams that NU usually blows past (UNE, St. A's) have skated right with the Cadets. Maybe that's because of the injuries, but let's call a 4-0 loss to Skidmore what it is: inexcusable.

Good news is that it's still early. It'll be fun to see how this team responds. There's no doubt that there's a lot of talent in that locker room. But, in an era of rising competition where you can't take any win for granted, perhaps this will serve as a wake-up call.

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

I looked up at the clock with about 5 minutes left in the third and thought 'this is either 5 minutes away from one of the worst weekends of Norwich hockey I can remember or these boys can show something we haven't seen in the past 115 minutes this weekend and salvage a win'. Boy am I glad tonight took the road of the latter, great way to stick it out even though frustration and get the W. A+ effort to Salvucci on the second attempt and A+++ to Flaherty for that snipe. Scary thinking about the games next weekend right now but regroup this week and hopefully we start getting healthy and avoiding the injuries.
