Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Wishing the Cadet's the best of luck today as they take on UMB. I am hoping they can hold onto the feelings they experienced last night against Babson, such as confidence, self constraint and comradery. If they can, it is entirely possible to come away with 4 points this weekend. We took UMB to OT at their barn in our last meeting. Let's take them in regulation time this game and celebrate! You can do it Norwich:)

Rumors of our demise have been greatly exaggerated.

I don't even know how to express my excitement after this weekend, that was **** impressive! Great job by Coach McShane and the guys. It's tempting to look forward and think about where this team might go if they play up to this level for the remainder of the season, but I think I'm just going to toast them tonight and enjoy it.

What a weekend!!! Very proud of our Cadets and impressed with each and everyone who played in the last two games. They recovered nicely in the second period tonight, when it looked like they were headed in the same direction as last weekend. For two games in a row, we are seeing more confidence, better communication, better passing, self control,!you name it, they did it.:D Congrats to Russell on his first college hat trick...way to step up to the NET. Ostepchuk continues to play like a pro. If the Cadets can hold on to this winning feeling, who knows how far they can go in the post season. I am so excited :D

Fantastic weekend of hockey; went to both games; thought tonight's crowd was smaller than last night's, but could be wrong; still high energy. Did you see the Babson stick get caught in the glass?

I did not. I spent the great majority of the Babson game being told to calm down by my wife😉 She had never joined me at Kreitzberg until Friday night. What a great initiation!

I didn't make it over to this afternoon's game. I stayed home and watched the NSN broadcast. It certainly appeared that the Friday night crowd was larger than the Saturday afternoon crowd, but I have generally found that to be true every year.

It appears the boys are hitting their stride at the right time. To beat Babson so thoroughly with both Will and Dean, and then top UMB without Will leaves me highly encouraged about what this team can do when totally healthy...which is the drum I've been beating for some time now.

The 17 regular season titles was nice, but at the end of the day it meant nothing more than home ice throughout (which is very nice, don't get me wrong). I kinda like the thought of this team having the proverbial chip on their shoulder and, for once, being the hunter. I fully believe they are capable of winning the league tourney.

I said it at the end of last season, and this year has done nothing to change my mind: Tyler Piacentini is the lifeblood of this team. I don't know that I've ever seen a kid give EVERYTHING for EVERY SECOND of EVERY SHIFT the way this kid does. The epitome of leading by example.

The sweep is complete ... it was quite a feat ...
A statement's been made ... and it surely is sweet!

Okay I'm no poet ... but what a weekend for Norwich hockey.
These guy made a statement for sure. Do you think, the Beavers, the Beacons, or any other team wants to play them in the tournament?

Home game in the quarterfinals .. then pack your bags fans ... I think this is going to be fun!

Oh, and thanks for all your kind words about my condition ... I am fine for now and hopefully well into the future ... but your prayers and support are much appreciated.

Two outstanding wins for the Cadets over the weekend. They may not be able to hang the 18th league title banner but with the way they played this weekend they certainly can put up a fight for the league championship.

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

I am very happy to see NU put a fantastic game together. I really did not think they could win both. That was the best play since beating up on Plattsburgh. It is interesting when they play the worst teams they don't play so well and when playing the best teams they play great. Mr. Ostepchuk was playing like he did in the early part of the season I thought. With that kind of goal tending , there is not telling how far they can go. Maybe they can go from hot and cold too just hot for the rest of the way. That would be nice.

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

One factor which helped Norwich had to be the strength of schedule. UMASS Boston in a very good team but with the exception of Colby and Bowdoin there out of league schedule was not strong. Norwich playing teams like Trinity and Plattsburgh (twice) seemed to help. But USMass puck control in the offensive zone was the best I have seen this year, even better than Trinity.

Prez did Norwich change the time of the game on Saturday from 7:00PM?

Saturday's game time is 4pm for the men. The women are playing at 7pm.

Conference rules dictate that Saturday league games must start at 4pm.

Great nweekend for Norwich hockey with wins over 1st and 2nd place teams in the conference locking us into an at home playoff quarter final. Team all fixed and ready to go! We just have to repeat this past weekend in the playoffs and we're ready for the Nationals. Much better than a couple of weeks a go! Do you think there will be a miracle on ice for Norwich this year?

My Dad and I were in Lake Placid for the original 1980 "Miracle"...unfortunately we did not get tickets for the final game, but were outside the arena with hundreds of other fans. It didn't take long for word to spread that the Men's USA team won the gold!
I believe in Miracles and who knows, a dark horse finish for this years team would be really awesome. Again, if Norwich can play like they did last weekend, they have a fighting chance of getting into the NCAA tournament. You can do it Cadets!!

Sorry you could not be inside. I was fortunate to be inside for both games and what a celebration!! Strange things sometimes happen in sports and Lady Luck can be a real factor. Lets hope she smiles on our Cadets this year. Hockey can be a game of inches and seconds as we all know. Enough of the puck stopping right on the line...........

So jealous of this! Even those that were outside! Only 25 so I was long from being born at that point, probably one of the events I wish I could go back in time to. Norwich has what it takes and I hope they realize how great they can play when they play together like last weekend. Hope when/if Will comes back the team just adds him to the mix, don't rely on him to do everything! Defense build on last weekends success and let's roll!
