Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

I am afraid that the only way we'll have a chance in the NECH Tourney is a miracle. DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES?

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

In all seriousness, I have been reading this thread for a while now: you people need to relax...You will be fine...

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

I am normally optimistic, but it is getting harder each game.

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

That was embarrassing. The way we played was bad, blatantly butt-ending a guy at the final buzzer was worse. Disgraceful.

Mcshane is digraceful!!!! Always gives the refs a hard time and never shakes hands with the team at the end of the game. He should get a penalty for unsportsmanship.

Unsportsmanship, hmm

Besides your invention of a word, I've seen many Norwich games in person, wins and losses, and I always see Mike cross the ice to shake hands with the opposing coach. Not sure where you're drawing your data from.

Not this year. 3-5-1 in last 9.

I find it hard to feel sorry for you guys: my team could very possibly go the last 17 games of the season without winning :) I know you guys will make a run the the tourney: IMO probably to the Champ game....You have to keep the faith! I can't believe I am pumping up Norwich fans....Stay OUT of the box, it takes so much energy/momentum to kill of penalties and I think that has been a factor in you guys not having your normal jump....

We're spoiled. Everyone is sounding the death knell. What's more likely after 17 years of dominance, the Cadets rebound next year, or we fall off the map like Middlebury? I'm pretty confident it will be the former.

Agreed...

If he is such a disgrace, why did he bench Salvucci after he came out of the box for his ten minute misconduct? I would not be surprised to see a few Norwich players either sit the bench or not play all the shifts because of their actions today. You have no idea what you are talking about!

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

After all the penalties called in the first two periods, it seemed as if the team became very tentative for fear of getting a penalty. Facisciously, I told my wife that Norwich should "goon it up" in the third as obviously the zebras had taken them out of their game, but that didn't happen til the end.

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Ugh. I just threw up a little in my mouth. I remember the overtime loss to Castleton in 2010, which the write-up notes is the last time the Cadets lost to the Spartans, and it was then (in my sophomore year) that I really began to realize how much I dislike that school. It was also the first time that I witnessed the Cadets lose a hockey game, so I didn't really know how to react.

In moments like this, I try to find the silver-lining. There really isn't an immediate one for the hockey team, so I'll fall back on the same one I use for losing the Sap Bucket: It's only a rivalry if the other team wins every once in awhile. And rivalry is good for the school, the state, and therefore the program.

Then again, we've now lost the Sap Bucket 3 out of the past 4 years. So...

I have checked the Norwich schedule, the D3 schedule, and the Skidmore schedule, and it appears there is no video broadcast tonight! Anyone know any different? Prez, George, Tanner...somebody please tell me there is video:confused:

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

If it's in Skidmore, they NEVER have a broadcast: EVER....Something to do with the rink and internet....

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Both the Norwich hockey players and coaches have very high expectations placed on them and at least this year I think the pressure is getting to them. With the facility and resources Norwich puts into hockey I think everyone expects a top 10 team every year, if not a team competing for the national championship. Last night at Castleton the lack of scoring production continued to factor in the loss. But the action of the Norwich player at the end of the game can not be justified and doesn't make the program look good. Maybe someone more of a hockey expert can explain the lack of scoring this year,

On a positive note I thought the Castleton video was outstand and I consider Jack Heally one of the best D3 broadcasters around.
