Norwich 14-15

Re: Norwich 14-15

Amherst will have a NSN broadcast this weekend and George Commo will be there for WDEV with Cory Gustafson on Saturday for the men's quarterfinal. WDEV will also have coverage of the Norwich/Plattsburgh women's game on Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.

You may get the foreign dude who usually calls Amherst's games. He did not do the NESCAC finals though.

Re: Norwich 14-15

That would make us "due".

Let's hope the stands at Orr reflect the number of Amherst vs Norwich posters on the USCHO fan forums

What really matters is what happens on the ice. Unfortunately Orr Rink is nothing like Kreitzberg.

Re: Norwich 14-15

I had a nightmare last night that we lost the championship game in overtime to Middlebury. No joke. The rivalry still apparently runs deep. I was relieved to wake up in a panicked, cold sweat and realize that we have yet to play Amherst on Saturday and that Middlebury isn't in the tournament. This week is taking too long.

Congradulations on realizing it was a nightmare.

11 years ago tonight Middlebury beat Norwich sudden DEATH @ Norwich 3-2 in the NCAA semi-final game in the second OT period. One of the better hockey games played at Norwich. :(

Other than the much smaller seating capacity (<1,000) how does it differ? The building plans make it look as though the ice is of similar size.

Orr is NHL size, 200'x85'. Kreitzberg is 5' wider. Not a huge difference, shouldn't matter much.

Regardless of outcome, probably one of the best college hockey games I have seen, next only to the double OT NU win in Lake Placid in 2010

I was the goal judge behind the St. Norbert net when that winning goal was scored. That is easily the best hockey game I have ever seen in person. Norwich won that game dozens of times if not for the absolute heroics of the St. Norbert goaltender (who has to be one of the few players to get the Most Outstanding player award for a non-winning team).

Even if NU would have lost, it still would have topped my list of games. That was an awesome weekend, even if I made the stupid decision of driving back and forth to Northfield and not staying in Lake Placid :).

That was an incredible game...70 saves by BJ O'Brien..
Amazingly, it almost went into the third OT...as there were just 31 seconds remaining in the second OT when Norwich scored..
Not all bad for SNC...as it set up the Green Knights consecutive National Championship titles in the next two seasons..
