Btw, in case anyone wondered, Adam Reid will be here this Fall.
I am glad to hear that he is coming this year. They need the players and atleast this way they won't lose him. Besides it will be nice to have a 6'5 forward crush Gaudreau.
How can NU fans be upset Gaudreau left for BC when a year ago NU did the same exact thing to Ferriero at their expense?
Different scenario, Onion Man. NU fans aren't as upset with BC as they are with the in-house circumstances that led to Gaudreau's decommitting. Did The BC AD wipe out the complete coaching staff last year? No. This is more akin to what happened last year when BC found money for Kevin Hayes, but told Ferriero that they had no more money for him. Ferriero left for a better deal then. Similiar, is what happens at BC now. BC didn't have money for Haar. BC did have money for Linnell AND Gaudreau. Is it true that KJ Tiefenwerth or another recruit is being pushed back so that BC can fit Linnell and Gaudreau in? What will that recruit do?
This isn't the pros.. let the kid go. Will make for some good games.
Not that last yrs gms were snooze fests..Long as Coaches can steer.. kids will be even more pumped for the matchups.
As a Huskies fan... i am more curious to see the guys behind the bench (the entire bench!.. execute their role).. versus having questions about the team on the ice. Our team has a good core. They need a Head Coach & staff to help the development continue. Sincerely hope we have our man/ men!.
8 weeks till puck drop.. hope Madigan is counting![]()
I'm much more concerned that we keep Darcy than Gaudreau.
Darcy is not going to northeastern
darcy is not going to northeastern
DK. Hope not.
The flight of talented players from NU has been painful to watch - even for fans of other Hockey East teams. However, there is one positive for NU fans to come out of the story of the Gaudreau brothers. From what I've read, a primary reason John Gaudreau originally committed to NU and subsequently moved on to BC is that he wanted to play college hockey in the "City of Boston" (can still hear the former Mayor White heralding this phrase). Same with Saponari and Ferriero. When I was in graduate school in Boston back in the late 70's, many sections of the city were decrepit and the professional sports landscape hadn't seen a championship team in a long time. Obviously, that's all changed. Is there a more exciting sports city to be in today? Coaches Cronin and O'Connell were sharp enough to recognize Gaudreau's talent before their competition and get him to commit to NU. In the future, there will be other talented juniors who want to play for a Hockey East team in Boston and you'll get your share.can't wait for good news to come out of nu hockey, until then, im just going to focus on the pats and turn a blind eye to the dawgs until the season starts. this is just getting depressing reading about all of these blue chippers leaving. sigh.
