Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014-15: Release the Hounds!
Somehow, NU has managed to start 0-4 for the first time since something like 1971 with what is arguably the most talented roster of players in the history of the program.
How is this the most talented roster of players in the history of the program? Because of K. Roy? That is a huge stretch, but yes I would agree with you that we should not be 0-4.
The only thing scary about tonight, and not that I really like agreeing with Rossi, but they put together a great effort against a bad team and still lost.
I thought all 12 forwards flashed tonight, and had good games. As was pointed out on twitter though, they suck at crashing the net, coming in way to fast and over skating pucks consistently. The defense had its issues at time, and Roy in goal was a mess every time there was the slightest hint of a screen in front of him. A good team that can finish would have blown him out tonight.
I felt that the first 4 goals of the game were weak goals by the each goalie. At least the pure hockey fan in me can appreciate the game winner. That was a nice shot on a great feed. Nice to see a 3 on 2 finished.
As for JM stepping down, that should have been 2 years ago. It would be great if he does it after they get swept in the first round of the playoffs, he will finish his contract, which means probably 1 more year.
.
But yeah, hiring a guy with zero head coaching experience, who had not been behind a bench since the mid 80s and then for only 2 years, who was a part time scout, and whose only qualifications was "had been around the team", probably not the best idea.
One good thing about tonight, no points again for Roy or Szmatula. So if they are to hit what they did last season point wise, they are going to go crazy the rest of the way.
