Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

Since I missed out on the affair in South Bend, I was thinking about it. I have never been to Minneapolis and looks like it would be a good time, especially with the way the team has been playing. Anyone else thinking of going?

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

I will be there. Minneapolis is a cool city...the only thing that sucks is that it will be very cold. The indoor sky walk connects most of downtown, so you can stay out of the cold. The Vikings are also in town on Sunday if you are looking for something else to do. Wild are at home on Thursday before the games.

37 votes in the joke poll.

18th in the PairWise

Lol, Yale at #19 is laughable.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

I am more annoyed by Merrimack being 5th in the polls. Outside of their two wins against us, who have they beaten?

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

Nice win on Saturday. Northeastern played much better than Lowell and deserved the win.

All the best in your Holiday tourney and please beat BU & BC before you head to Lowell in late January :)

If you want positive well written stories about NU Hockey http://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2011/12/11_on_a_rawl.php try college hockey news they have been pretty fair all season with few articiles about the team. As, far as Rankings go, I mean we can play with anyone right now, but we need points..that's it. I almost wish that we were not at the break. However given our schedule and some close losses to Merrimack and BC, I think we deserve to be ranked about 15. It's just that when you are a .500 teams nobody is going to do it.

Ah Nobody, look at the KARCH and PAIRWISE, NU scheadule to date has been ranked as high as 8 and avg about 12 and no lower than 15 all season!

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

Still unranked in the USCHO poles. I know they don't matter but it is pretty funny to see Michigan ranked ahead of us. We're 18th in the PWR however, and thats all that really matters.

If the Huskies keep playing like this, things will fall into place just fine in the rankings and in the PWR.

Also, it is way too early in the season to take any stock in the PWR. Hell, I don't even pay attention to it until February. It's a volatile system as it is, but really up until about February, it is not a good gauge of where a team actually is. There is just too little data before then for it to be accurate.

I don't care about where we are in polls, just commenting that Yale being ranked is comical at best. They are 6-5-1 with a cakewalk schedule in the EZAC with one good win over Union.

Yeah, I agree with ya there. :)

Reminder, NU's own Jamie Oleksiak will be a part of Team Canada in the WJC, which starts Monday. I'm all about team USA in senior level international competitions, but there's no way I can root for this USA team with Gaudreau, Coyle, etc. on it.

FWIW, Gaudreau didn't make the final squad.

Justice has been served.

Still going with Team Oleksiak though.

Look forward to seeing out Huskies before I return to Baltimore after break. I'm having withdrawals.
