Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

btw.. Nick, i love this idea for tonight..

www.bceagles.com

Do they actually split Conte (the ice/ court in half) or is that just graphics?
This would be cool at Matthews someday (AD take note :)).
The students on campus (fans of both sports & beyond - alumni, kids etc), would love this. Neat.

It's the real deal - half ice, half court. This will be the 2nd one; last year's was pretty cool from what I heard but I couldn't make it. I won't be making it to this year's either. But the idea is pretty cool and it seems to be pretty popular so I assume it will be an annual thing now.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

You made a good point. Then you went and messed up by saying that Ken Dryden was in net for Cornell's perfect season. Dryden had graduated by then. The goalie was actually the diminutive Brian Cropper. He had a fabulous defense in front of him (as did Dryden) and, unlike Dryden, we on to an undistinguished one year career in the minor leagues. Cropper was 9" shorter than Dryden and weighed 60 lbs. less. For some reason people confuse the two when referring to the "perfect season".

Wow you're right. I just always assumed. I feel like it just perpetuates out there as a fact and people keep repeating it. Thanks for the correction - although the two points I made still stand and they are not affected logically by the Dryden mistake.

Logic? we come to these boards for logic? :) Osorojo wants to talk to you...
Oh & how come 'abbreviated' is such a long word?

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

its the leagues worst PP vs the leagues worst PK. Something has to give!

Ferreiro will be back in at some point. Dongara i have my doubts. Maybe once a month he can play to rest somebody who is nicked up. After you put Ferreiro back in the lineup, lets say for Stone, who are you going to take out for Dongara? And even if you do pull someone like Vroylk or Tuckerman, the way Madigan shortens the bench, he would only get a shift or two anyway.

Seriously, on Saturday, it felt like we only played 6 forwards and 4 dmen the entire third period.

I'd rather bench a certain upperclassmen with a collective -25 in his college career, who (at least in my opinion) is a bit of a selfish player.

He is wicked selfish, but I rather have him out there. Tons of more skill and I am willing to live with the career -25.

I agree about the skills, but I have trouble with the idea that there has been little or no improvement in his playmaking ability. His scoring stats have ShrinkyDinked. This hasn't gone unnoticed as he has steadliy worked his way down from the 1st PP unit and 2nd line to the 2nd pp unit and 4th line. Cody's returning should be an uptick.

Sorry, Vermy. You gotta grow your game or you sink!

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

Im planning to take the GF up to UNH this saturday to see the game. What section do people have tickets for?

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

Can't make this one.. if you go, Whittemore does not sell tix over the phone (just walk up i think). Otherwise there's always ticketmaster unless you already have your source for tickets. Hope the Huskies play well.. about time for Madigan to get his first one on the road. UNH is going to get better.. just hope it's a little down the road :). Go NU

Where was he supposed to be last night? UNH was too busy beating Union to play us. They will have more time tonight. Hopefully they won't be quite so hungry or desperate. Cody was still around as recently as Wednesday evening. I am curious to see who his linemates will be.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

Went home instead of making the trek through the storm to Durham, should be a VERY interesting game with ferriero making his season debut, dongara back in and Witt starting between the pipes. (Tuck and Stone are the odd men out). Looking forward to a good listen in about an hour.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

Are these line-up comments right? Hope Ferriero has his head on straight and is ready to play. Happy to see Dongara back in there. In my opinion he brings an extra gear of speed to the forecheck that Tuckerman doesn't have. Surprised if Witt is in tonight. Just didn't believe that Rawlings wouldn't start on a one game weekend. Gigured Witt would get a game on another weekend.

Off of WRBB twitter "Just arrived at the Whittemore Center, big lineup changes for #Northeastern. IN: Ferriero, Dongara. OUT: Stone, Tuckerman. Clay Witt in net"

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2011-2012 Season Thread: Year of the Mad Dog

Ok at the Whitt and Witt in net ? Ah why?, I guess coach needs to see for himself, that this kid islikly not our answer either. Also Dongara and Ferrio are both playing! I heard they both had 2 good weeks of practice. Sap, Qualer and Daniels look good but the rest of it looks well not too good. Dongara on 2nd line. It took 4ever to get up here in the snow!
