Ya, me and a couple guys are flyin in for the series and catching the pats game up in denver on sunday. whats the good word on things to do/places to go pre and post game in CS? any and all recommendations appreciated.

If interested I can tell you at which hotel your team will be staying at. It has a nice bar but can be on the quiet side.

Any CC fans know of the online video quality? I would like to watch the games, but want to make sure that I won't be wasting my money.

The pricing was ok but the quality of the video of the UVM playoff series was crap. we just listened online and muted the picture. I don't know if at CC the quality will be better or not.

So what can we expect from this game? Anybody?

I honestly have no clue what to expect. After seeing NU a ton last year, I expect them to be strong IF they get good goaltending. Losing Brad Theissen really hurts, but they have a good core in place even with the loss of a few key seniors from last season. I'm especially looking forward to seeing guys like Steve Quailer and Alex Tuckerman with a year under their belts. They both showed flashes of brilliance last year in their freshman seasons.

CC has so many question marks going into this season after losing a star goaltender, their leading scorers, etc. Will one of the goaltenders step up and fill Bachman's skates? Will Senior Billy Sweatt and some of the underclassmen be able to replace the scoring of guys like Chad Rau and Eric Walsky? Will any d-man be able to fill the role of a good offensive d-man who can see the outlet passes and maybe QB the powerplay?

Getting rid of NEU is difficult for 2 reasons.

1) The web address is www.neu.edu (at least the athletic website isn't www.goneu.com)

2) I was employed by NU for a number of years and NEU is consistently used internally when referring to the University.....

Back to this weekend....it is all on our freshman goaltenders. I hope Mountain gets at least one period of play

I HATE the tag NEU....and I'm a BU fan. I support any efforts to get that changed across the board.

JSTigers.. good post. BTW, i don't know if you know, but we lost Steve Quailer to an ACL injury in our very first exhibition gm last weekend. He's out for most of the season, perhaps a but sooner, but not no more play for him in the yr 2009, anyways. So besides losing Thiessen & Ginand etc, we did lose a very talented sophomore. I'd be happy with 2 pts this wknd

SON OF A B....!! I did not hear about Quailer. That will be a huge loss for NU. I think he was on target for a big year. Hopefully they'll redshirt him if he can't come back this year.

I think he'll be with the Montreal organization before spending 4 years here anyway, so red shirt probably won't make a difference. It's a shame such a serious injury occurs in an exhibition

For those asking about the b2 feed, I haven't seen it but will say that the TV feed isn't great, so I don't know why b2 would be any better.

Yeah, good point. He may not be here for four years. It would have been fun for him to play in the Springs this weekend, as it's only an hour and a half from Arvada, where he's from. Plus a guy with his speed would be fun to watch on CC's Olympic sized ice!

Pretty nice physical game tonight with both teams showing a bit of speed.
Lots of end to end action and some good hitting.

Difference probably the goal tending and the CC penalty kill.

One more to go.

In my opinion Rawlings should have made the save on 3 of those 4 goals scored against him. Be interesting to see who will be in net for NU (not NEU) Saturday.

Rapuzzi is something special for CC, twice I saw #27 behind the net being very physical and mixing it up like a defenseman, I did not know it was him until looking down at my program to see who #27 was. He is going to be a fan favorite for CC.

Nice win for CC last night. Your freshman goalie certainly played better than our freshman goalie.. sigh.., that'll be an interesting topic of discussion for us NU fans as the season progresses.

Nevertheless, i thought it was a well played gm by us.. (save our goaltending) with good discipline by NU (very few penalties by us & i thought the refs were a bit too harsh on the CC calls least once). I def think we should have converted on the 5x3 opportunity we had. Kudos to the Tigers on that. Well, still hoping for a better effort tonight.
