Northeastern at Boston University HEA Quarterfinals

Re: Northeastern at Boston University HEA Quarterfinals

So Noonan is good at both hitting from behind AND pretending he got hit from behind... hmm, who knew

Re: Northeastern at Boston University HEA Quarterfinals

well we're halfway to a probable thurs-sun series, stony brook just beat uvm. if bu defeats hartford, that game is played at noon at Agganis.

Re: Northeastern at Boston University HEA Quarterfinals

Looking more and more like it will be a Thursday, Friday, Sunday (if necessary) series.

Re: Northeastern at Boston University HEA Quarterfinals

Parker said he'll appeal Noonan's game misconduct last night because he didn't think Noonan ever made contact with McNeely's head. He said it was definitely an elbow, but not a contact to the head. I thought it was clearly a hit to the head, but I only saw it on replay once, so I guess I'd have to see it again.

it was 100% to the head. just a stupid penalty to take during any point of any game. Noonan had no need for his elbow to be that high, just clearly trying to run McNeely. As a BU fan/hockey fan in general I was ****ed, although glad to see McNeely was ok

Excellent, a chance for another night of hockey. I assume Thursday won't sell out right? I don't want to pay ticketbastard

no hockey east qf games ever sell out unless its played in a little band box like merrimack. but i dont know how many scalpers will be outside, its not exactly a terribly sought after ticket. if you buy from the box office you still have to pay a stupid building fee, so itd be 24 plus 2 i assume.

Re: Northeastern at Boston University HEA Quarterfinals

The noonan hit happened about 40 directly feet in front of me. noonan certainly got a large chop on McNeely's neck. If he didn't get part of his head it was becaused he missed his mark. Stupid thing to do, but at that point noonan thought the Huskies were there to annoy him rather than to compete. He's not a stupid kid, just a stupid player.

As for the appeal: We all know that somehow, some way, jp gets what he wants from officials, commisars, etc. I expect to see noonan in game one. OTOH, Warsofsky's concussion better be completely cleared up for him to risk running into Wade McLeod after the cheap shot warso gave McLeod in the BP last year.

OK, this is weird. I'm reading your post, Ryecheers, and see that you said how the hit happened 39 feet in front of you and quoted the post because I was curious as to where you come up with such a random measure - ha! And when I quoted it, it turned to 40. Bizarre.

Anyway, so you think Wade McLeod will end Warsofsky's career? Because if he does that to someone just coming back from a concussion, he could do that. I doubt McLeod is that stupid.

I'm sure the basketball team will win tonight because I have plans on Thursday and them winning and causing Game 1 to be Thursday will make me have to change them. I also heard that there is some rule, whether it be Hockey East one or whatever, that the ice has to be down for a certain amount of time prior to faceoff, which means the game can't be played Saturday night. I could have sworn they've done a basketball/hockey doubleheader at Agganis before. Is it a playoff thing? The basketball game is at noon (if it's played at all) so there's no reason that the game couldn't be played at 8:00pm, is there?

I don't ever remember there being a doubleheader on the same day at Agganis, but I could be wrong. I didn't see the Noonan hit, so I have nothing to say there. If McNeely ran Warsofsky, he'd likely have his career ended by an angry Eric Gryba teleporting in to eat him from wherever the Senators AHL team is playing, if he wasn't already ejected from the game himself. I'd also suspect that the officials would be watching carefully for intentional hits to the head with the intent to reinjure. I think if the chippy play from this weekend continues, DQ's could be on the table for either side.

I wouldn't be surprised about anything from NU players/fans. You forget their fans threw garbage on the ice Friday night and the team was diving all over the ice last night because the refs refused to call embellishment and bough the calls 75% of the time. Silva punched Coyle in the face last night and only got 2 minutes so there is no reason for them to not do that to Warso. They are not exactly the classiest individuals especially against rival teams like BU..BC etc or who they claim are their rivals.

 There is no need for a post like this.

Re: Northeastern at Boston University HEA Quarterfinals

I was sitting just off to the side down low and saw the Noonan hit. I hate to say it, but from what I saw, he did it intentionally and deserved the penalty. I would wager he sits regardless of how it is argued by BU. Also, in regards to Warsofsky, with all the hubbub about concussions and injuries to the head (see previous sentence re: Noonan), I would also bet that Warsofsky isn't cleared to play. I also wonder if the Bruins have any say/input to this decision. They own his rights and his future pro career now. It is not in their and his best interest to take a chance where another hit so close to the last one. Best guess...Rosen slides back plays d, sanata/courtnall/gilroy as 4th line in first game. Any takers?

I agree with that for the most part. I don't know if there was intent but it seemed like it happened which is all that counts. I would be shocked if we see Noonan this weekend. Warso could play...like you said you don't know what his state is. Parker said he was skating a bit and improving so I wouldn't rule him out just yet but yes if he can't go you gotta move Rosen back to D and have the fourth line mentioned above.

Hahahaha, what, did you watch the last half of the third? Like BU didn't spend the entire half of the period trying to draw penalties to get back in the game. Don't act like BU didn't have much more of a reason to draw penalties and you know what...

EVERY player in EVERY sport embellishes whether you like it or not. Rookies call out teams for diving as if it is exclusive...welcome to sports.

As for the garbage throwing, still disgusted by it and on the T ride to TD I talked to some of the diehard Dog House members who said quote "stupid, drunk a-holes." Don't want to see that again at Matthews.

Also, Noonan went headhunting clear as day to anyone at the game.
