Northeast Regional: Boston University, Yale, UMD, Minnesota

Re: Northeast Regional: Boston University, Yale, UMD, Minnesota

Like the new uscho article on stories of first round games. "Look at the big MN/UMD game! Oh yeah...and there's some other games going on."

Re: Northeast Regional: Boston University, Yale, UMD, Minnesota

Here's a good intro on the Bulldogs for people who haven't seen them. http://www.duluthnewstribune.com/sp...mens-hockey-speedy-duo-provide-spark-bulldogs
OK, just clicked through to see why a Duluth paper would be a good source for info on the Yale Bulldogs, as the post did not specify anything different. This is another of those dueling mascot brackets, isn't it. We've got too many Mavericks out in South Bend, which I also find confusing.

Re: Northeast Regional: Boston University, Yale, UMD, Minnesota

Not fair. They look like 25yr old Canadians.

Well that's good! I was feeling a little bad about noticing/admiring their midriffs ( I am 48 ) but if they look 25 to you, then:)..... For you easterners, of the 5 Minnesota schools ( with D 1 hockey ) the University of Minnesota and the Duluth version of us have what appear to be fairly wholesome cheerleaders, you know, lots of smiles, eye contact and shaking of pom poms. You need to see the state schools ( Mankato and St. Cloud ) if you want lasses who work those hips and backsides. They make me blush a little. As for the Beavers, well I don't remember if they have cheerleaders, skating or no, but with that mascot, I would think it to be overkill.

I'm thinking we need more OOC away games against the Minnesota schools. :D

Re: Northeast Regional: Boston University, Yale, UMD, Minnesota

And we can all agree that SCSU's cheerleaders are real bad. They definitely bring credence to the term "husky women".

There are one or two on the MSU squad that could give SCSU ones a run for their money.

I'm a lot older than that and don't feel bad one bit! :D In fact, I'm thinking this may help boost attendance if we had it in the East...

biddy shared a funny story about his high school days where a player came out between periods and bumped a skating cheerleader, knocking her down. while she was layin on the ice injured the recently zamboni'd water froze - imprisoning her hair! good times ;)

Re: Northeast Regional: Boston University, Yale, UMD, Minnesota

Cornell has begun to play the game that would otherwise be against BU in those off years in msg against other opponents.
And when it's time for BU again they want it in msg.

It would be ideal if we had an annual game which was held once every 3 years at MSG, but it's hard to argue against the attendance/$$ that RHH gets and what that exposure must do for both programs.

That and it's nice for us NYC-based alums to get to watch BU without having to make a trip up to Agganis. :D

And equally nice for those of us who don't often get to NYC to have a cool reason to go! :)

It's like they're plotting something. I don't like it.

My wife went to high school one year in Cheshire, CT. The girl behind her in one of her classes said "We're going to bomb the Yale Whale tonight." My wife replied, "Yeah...sure you are." The next day there was an explosion there. You never know with these people...;)

What I'm plotting is what time to leave work tomorrow so I can go home and watch the game. It's an 11:00 A.M start time here in Arizona. Take the whole day off, maybe?

Re: Northeast Regional: Boston University, Yale, UMD, Minnesota

They're traveling. You know...hotel the night before, posh dinner...nice and rested for an early afternoon game. Beat the traffic! :D

Exactly. Plus as a 4 seed having just snuck into the tourney, playing on a friday at 2pm (now vs. the all-mighty BU and Mr. Eichel) what chance do we really have.
I mean look what happened last time snuck in and had to play that 2pm friday game.

That being said, looking forward to what should be a good game assuming Mr. Lyon hasn't lost his Superman cape.

Looking forward to this region.

I think any of these teams could come out it and be playing in the frozen four in a couple of weeks.

If you prefer Italian, this is a good spot (they only make reservations for 10 or more, but they DO have a 'call ahead' list)
